Yes, isn't arthritis a Joy!  I keep trying to remind myself how much worse it could be.  Because it really could.  So for now, I'll keep trying to be the Little Engine That Could.  Some days arejust harder then others and then there is always the reminder in the mirror.  However, it really IS all about the attitude...the one string you can play on.

Why do I have such dry skin? I don't think it is my age but I do use a lotion everyday. Perhaps I am from the islands and somehow year round my legs and hands looks awful because of dryness. But I think at 48 I feel old already. My father in law just jokingly said to me the other day, once you hit fifty you will start declining.

I don't feel old at all.  I will be 59 in June.  I count my blessings because I do have a demanding job....part of what keeps me young, I guess!

I have "old" parts if I look in the mirror.  Crow's feet by my eyes and laughter lines.....those are Ok.
My biggest aging complaints are the changes I see in the mirror.....the neck skin is changing.

But, overall, nothing to complain about at all!

I know how you feel, I'm going to be 50 the 20th and I feel older. With my illnesses that I have they say I have a body of a 70.

50 is not old lol  You think it's old when you're a teenager but when 30 arrives much sooner than you thought then you start to re-evaluate what age old is. I pray that your illnesses are soothed soon.

I am 68 going on 69 next month and just don't feel old at all. I still jog 2.5 miles four times a week. But certain things remind me that I am getting old like looking at the back of my hands, which have really aged. Plus I get really tired out watching my 1 year old granddaughter and running around after her because she is into just everything.

Being old is always how you see yourself.  I am older but my mind is not accepting that so I can have more fun.  It's all in your mindset.  I don't have old/wrinkle arms, but the body have all the pains that I didn't have when I was 30.

Do you drink enough water? Water replenishes all your organs, of which the skin is the largest.

Maybe try some coconut oil in some of the things you cook.

Putting baking soda in the tub makes your skin quite soft so maybe it's not quite so dry.

You could also try mixing some baby oil with the lotion you already apply. Make sure you dry off completely after your showers and baths to keep skin from drying out, or use your oil/lotion mixture right after your bath to help it absorb into your skin.

That's a wonderful suggestion! Other than skin replenishing, drinking more water also has internal advantages that may result in less aches due to released toxins.

Yep I feel you - I will be 63 in 4 months.  I can't believe it.  I remember right before my 25th birthday I thought its not so bad I still have a lot of years before I'm old.  Wow that went by fast.  But at least we are alive.

I am feeling my age and wishing I could turn back the clock. But I guess it doesn't work that way. Sure wish it did. My back is a trainwreck. Arthritis in my feet and hands. Getting ready to start juicing, been doing a lot of reading about holistic ways to help the body with the ways you eat.
