I live in Idaho and today, it's 80 degrees hot! I've had to put a camping canopy over my newly planted tomato plants because they're too young to be blitzed with these temperatures. In two weeks or so, I suspect they will be ready for me to remove the canopy, until then, they can used to the gentle breeze that comes before the scorching heat of June and July. The windy weather bought me an early crop last year that went right through to the end of October. I have enough tomato sauce in my freezer to last until 2017!

it can get pretty hot in the summer in Wisconsin, but I hate air conditioning. I love fresh air, and opt for fans.

I much prefer fall and winter. Cold air always feels so "clean" to me.

Living in a mobile home, I have no AC. So....I go outside a lot and visit people who do have AC. Summer is a blessing for me. Then I can take walks, do gardening, go to the beach, have family picnics/cookouts and generally get out more! In winter, I am concerned about falling on ice so I mostly stay inside. Since it is now spring,  :glasses-nerdy: I have already started my gardening. Also I have a playpen in the yard for my pet rabbit! He enjoys running around in it and eating clover!  We keep each other company! My grandchildren come visit me more in the summer than the winter as well. I'm thankful for summer!

So far we have not had a lot of really warm weather. In fact i think we have had a really cool to darn right cold April. We can have our last really cold weather  in mid May.  But i am sure getting antsy about getting my tomatoes and cucumbers oh and my gourds planted.  I don't spend a lot out doors right now because  of the trees blooming. Right now it is the cottonwood. And when i was in Albuquerque last week i had a terrible reaction to so many blooming at one time. It really made me sick and right now i am on strong meds. to get cleared up . Sucks to have real bad allergies. But hubby will be putting the AC's soon. I run one all summer during the day in the front part of the house and once in awhile in the  guestroom.  Only run the onein our bedroom just too cool off the room then switch to a window fan as it cools off great at night.

As long as I can stay where it is cool, then Summer is ok. I like sunbathing though so long as it is not scortching hot. :rose:

I'm not sure what to expect this summer.  We've moved and we're still trying to figure out how to moderate the temperature comfort levels in this place.   I know the air works.  We ran it once.  My husband will have it going 24/7 before you know it and I'll be biting my tongue wanting to just open windows in the mornings.

Me too. I hate the summer because of the heat, the bugs and I do not have AC in my car. I also live in Florida where the temperature reaches 100 degrees or more sometimes. I do enjoy all the BBQs though minus the mosquitos. I plan on staying busy so the time passes faster.

I do have a swamp cooler we bought at Costco about 4 years ago. We have already looking forward to summer and the heat. The hardest part is taking it down and setting it up again every year, but it does cool our house for summer.
