Pretty expected he would win Republican nomination... Ted Cruz and Kasich couldn't stop Trump from winning delegates and force him to a brokered convention.. A lot of republicans and independents do not like Cruz and Kasich has not made any impact on winning any states in the primary

I'm glad that I live in a blue state right now.... Trump has absolutely no chance of winning our state in the general elections, so even if I decide to vote my conscience and go 3rd party or write-in, it won't be like a vote for Hillary. That being said, I'd rather that he win the generals than Hillary; I think that the true conservatives in congress would be able to block / slow any liberal-lite ideas that he comes up with (eg universal health care, raising federal minimum wage) yet still allow other conservative policies he'd come up with. Also I'd rather a liberal-lite person choose a SCotUS judge than a true left-leaning liberal.

I am happy about it - Trump might not be perfect but then what politician is ?  I like a lot of his thinking.  Also I read that Cruz isn't even a U.S. citizen not that our current president is either.

Trump is such a clown and idiot.  I can never see someone like him as President.  He is off the cuff type of person and that is dangerous.

What I don't understand is that the people that keep voting for this guy are usually the ones who claim to be God fearing. Trump has said out of his own mouth previously that he isn't a believer, and has supported abortion until recently. You would think these people on the right who claim to be so religious would actually want someone who is actually religious. It just amazes me. I don't get it???

Indeed, it has been a very different year for American voters! It appears that our country is more divided now than it has ever been stirring up emotions over every little thing! People are now more afraid to exercise their right of freedom of speech. Everyone seems to be a critic now! Truely Cruz dropping out of the race was a surprise to me! In the past, there were not very many major political issues. Now there are multiple major political issues! So much that there is a very real possibility of another civil war in my opinion!

I have to say I was not surprised.  I really didn’t want Cruz because he’s a party person.  Look at what he did a couple years back.  He signal handedly laid off millions of government workers by stalemating the budget then blaming Obama for it when Obama said don’t give me a budget that doesn’t fund the healthcare plan and that’s exactly what happened.  (That’s why he didn’t dare come to Virginia and why it was Trump and Rubio that took the nominations.  We Virginians don’t forget when you *bleep* us off.) I don’t want to offend anyone but it seems lately that all the Republicans want to do is fight the Democrats and the heck with the American people.  The latest example was the Supreme Court Judge.  The Republicans want to wait for the next president (believing it to be Republican) so that they can have who ‘they’ want in the seat so they are demanding Obama’s nomination be halted since he’s on his way out.  That’s my problem with both Hilary and Bernie.  They are party people.  (I can’t picture either one being that mud-slinging in real life so that must be party politics) I think that’s what’s screwing up this country—the parties.  They want what they want and it’s no longer about the common person who does the voting to get them elected.  Honestly that’s my appeal towards Trump.  He’s a no BS person who isn’t a party man.  Heck, he even said from the beginning if he doesn’t win the Republican nomination he’ll run independent.  Let’s see what country dares attack us under him.  If he ain’t afraid to *bleep* off other Americans, just what do you think he’ll do with a foreign country?  In a way, though more radical, he reminds me of Reagan.  I know there will never be another Reagan, but he’s the only one so far that’s come close.
