I really prefer a gas grill its more convenient, dont have to wait for the charcoal to get ready, but I no longer have one, so I have a small 2 person charcoal grill

growing up we had charcoal and I just love the flavor. Now my family has  a gas grill. I miss the charcoal. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

I have never barbecued personally, but from what my friends have stated, they believe that charcoal makes for the best food. I have never heard of using wood chips. Very interesting.

We use a gas grill but my in-laws use wood chips and it always taste good. We have our grill for convenience but love using it...especially during the warm weather. We grill out as often as possible.

I agree wood truly does add a better flavor, but for convenience here in New York we tend to use charcoal.

Charcoal but I have a gas grill, too. It's amazing the food still has good flavor on a gas grill.

It's much more convenient to use wood pellets and yes it does add amazing flavor to anything you cook. All I do is flip a switch to start the grill and in 5 minutes it's ready to use, then I add more pellets when they run low by dumping them into a hopper. For one huge advantage, I can cut a chicken in half and place it cut side down on the grill, close the lid and come back in an hour and a half to a delicious meal. No standing over it with a spray bottle to put out the flare ups or baby sitting it to keep from burning. I could go shopping and feel confident dinner will be magnificent when I get home. It's that dependable.
