Have you experienced someone being jealous of you
« on: May 22, 2016, 01:45:05 pm »
Over the last year, I've lost a significant amount of weight for me. I never bragged or discussed this with co-workers, but there is a lady, with lost of personal  issues, that dislikes me because of my weight loss. A couple of months back she would tell coworkers that she was going to be smaller than me, I told her that's great, but she eats a lot and hasn't loss, she looks bigger.
Me losing weight wasn't to show off to anyone, but it's like this girl wants to be smaller than me, it doesn't seem like she wants to lose for her.

Yes. I remember when I was in my mid twenties working in a recruitment consultancy firm. I enjoyed my work and I worked very hard. I even offered to come in one Saturday to work without pay because there was something urgent that needed doing. I was thought well of by the Directors and at the end of the year, I got a nice pay rise and a promotion to a more senior role. A few months later, we employed someone to do my old job. She was a graduate in Business Studies and from very early on, she seemed to have problems taking instruction from me. I am not a graduate, and she knew this. I got the impression she was jealous that  I was in a more senior role giving instruction to a better educated individual. What she didn't know was how hard I had worked there before she even joined the company!

No, that is not something I experienced. I also have not felt jealousy towards someone else.

Yeah...I have had it happen...but for different reasons, mostly to do with being successful at things... I just try to downplay it, not worry too much about it, and just redirect conversations when it comes up, if at all....sounds like these people are just insecure or arrogant, not worth your time/energy...

I don't know that people are jealous of me.  My husband seems to think they are.  Whenever it seems like someone is sabotaging me at work he says, "They're jealous of you Kris." I don't know what they would be jealous of.  I'm just doing my job. And doing some of it well above others.  But there are things not only am I not good at but I don't even know or understand some of.  I don't understand jealousy.

Yes.  A person I knew from school is jealous of me.  I have never done anything to her.  Her behavior makes no sense and I continue to pray for her.

I'm like really thanks!

Reading about this jealously in the work place and over losing weight kind of just makes me sick. It makes me feel sad for those people, too, because their lives are going to be engulfed by that jealously and they're missing out on what they've got going on for themselves! They shouldn't be so preoccupied with others' success, and try to achieve their own goals not because they want to out-do someone, but because they want to be the best version of themselves they can be... *mini rant* I

I'm living with someone who I suspect to be a bit jealous of me (she's in her mid-40s, very vain, doesn't get along with women, at her job or otherwise, etc.). She seems very interested in where I'm going and what I'm doing and has made comments about my clothing. But, "It's not a competition. I'm the only one that can do what I do the way I do it. The same goes for you. Embrace it."  :peace:

Yep and it is stupid. It is a woman who likes the boss. The boss and i are friends and she knows it. He is married and I am married. He is however, getting divorced. She has her eye on him and considers me competition or something, which I am not. Funny thing is, he wouldnt even date her for 100 other reasons yet she things i am the problem!

Stupid selfish vain people.

At work, there are a few people who are jealous of the fact that I get along so well with my coworker. It is so much easier to do a good efficient job when people work well together and make a good team, but they are always fighting and don't get along, so of course they can't work together, and so they are jealous of us because we do. They always try to cause trouble and make us work apart, but it doesn't work. At least being on a different shift helps us avoid the drama.
