clearing your browser
« on: May 23, 2016, 03:24:52 pm »
Someone told me that if I clear out my cookies every few hours, then survey sites will "reset" and allow me to qualify more often instead of saying "thanks, now we don't want anymore answers from you!" Is this true? I'm also getting a VPN soon, and am wondering if that ruins your chances completely since you are assigned a new IP address constantly.

The site does keep track of your IP so I wouldn't take the chance that it would constantly have you in different locations or pop up as being the same as another user

I don't think every few hours is necessary but on a regular basis is a good idea

Hmm I suppose a VPN would make it appear I'm trying to take surveys from around the world. I would just disable it during my time on survey sites. I am a computer security buff, so viruses and malware won't be on my PC for long.

I try to clear my cookies before I attempt any surveys -- I don't know that it does any good.  I have noticed that some of the videos (the carousel ones) DO credit after clearing.

I try to clear my cookies daily and I think it makes the offers run more smoothly. What is the purpose of a VPN?  It seems like most sites do not want you using them.

Clearing cookies will not do all you have written, and a VPN will not affect your survey results either...

I'm trying to get better at clearing cookies.  I've read so much about it here in the forum.  I do know that it makes a difference with trying to get credit for Hipmunk offers, and I'm sure it makes other offers work better, too.  I'm not familiar with VPN.

I tried to clear out my cookies a few times and there still is a survey that will not let me complete it. I will never understand that one because I used to get that survey daily. ???

As usual, in order to understand some of these posts, I had to look up VPN (Virtual Private Network). I honestly had never heard of this.  :monkey:

Sounds good. Is it really?  :-\

I'd like some input from some of you tech savvy people, of which there are many on FC.

For those wondering, a VPN is a service you can get that helps protect your IP address from hackers or privacy leaks by rerouting you through random servers to appear that you are in some other location. It's a security thing. It's cheap and you can disable whenever you want.

Think of it as "radar scrambling on a naval ship" but for your computer IP address. It's a good service to avoid "data breaches" on your computer. Many businesses and companies use them as extra protection against hackers.

It may be good for you, but most GPT (Get Paid To) sites will ban you when they detect a VPN. People use those to cheat on these types of sites, especially people from countries that can't register and they use it to appear as if they are from the US.
