I got my 6th tattoo on my leg this past Saturday. It has meaning, It is in the shape of the Batman symbol, with colored puzzles pieces inside with a pink ribbon around the head part. Batman is because my son likes Batman, the puzzle pieces refers to Autism and the ribbon is in memory of my mother who passed away in 2011 of breast cancer. Anyone else have tattoos?

No. I considered it at one time - and every once in awhile I think about getting one of those temporary henna tattoos.

Overall, I don't want to put unnecessary marks on my body - other than what's already there. :(

I really want to get a new tattoo. I have 3 already, but I want to get something representing my children now. I have four boys and I do not know what to get. I just decided that I want to get it on my foot. I know it is going to hurt though because I already have one on my ankle and it hurt pretty bad and I have high pain tolerance.

I don't think I could ever get one, they might be fine now, by in 20 years, they are NOT going to look the same. I give credit to people who get them, but they just aren't for me.

That sounds like an interesting tattoo.  :) Tattoos with meaning are probably the only ones you won't end up regretting getting. I have gone back and forth with the idea of getting some, but it's on the fence with me right now. I think they can be amazing if you find the right artist and really think long and hard about what you want.

If you're worried about how a tat will look when you are old, then you're really getting the tat for the wrong reason... Since tattoos are permanent, they should be gotten for a reason, not just for looks. Like haimsterette said, people wouldn't regret a tat if it had true meaning for that individual; they may regret a tat with meaning if that meaning has changed for the person (ie tattooing a boy/girlfriend but then break up later in life), but if that meaning is more aligned with a person's true core values, then those meanings will rarely change.

It sounds like you put a lot of thought into the tattoo that you got. I'm sure it will remain a treasure for you long into the future.

That tattoo has very personal meaning for you.  I like it!  I have several tattoos.  One is for my love of cats.  It depicts cat paws walking up my arm to the top of my arm where a black cat sits, enjoying a cigarette.  Yes, I smoke, LOL.  I also have a purple rose with a band going around my arm.  That one was for my daughter who I lost in stillbirth in 1992.  I have my daughter's hand prints and foot prints, and I would like to have either of these, or both, done in a tattoo.

No tattoo's, a friend of mine got one recently, suddenly he looks like a walking tombstone. Nah, I'll use my son's coloring book or one of my art books instead. Styles change tattoos don't.

I have one small tattoo I got when I was 32. Had my heart broken and loved the Cher Heart of Stone Concert t-shirt. Used a version of that design. Still love it.
