What was your first job?  Did you enjoy it?  Why or why not?

My first job was cooking in a diner for friends who wanted to go on vacation and had no one to cook  until they got back. It was rough but i enjoyed it, and of course we were a small town i knew  a lot of the people. The worst thing was the hours were 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. when the regular cook came on But at least i was home to get my kids up, feed them and send them off to school. The one thing about it taught me a lot and i went on to use the experience when i worked in large restaurents as supervisiors that i could take over in any kitchen when cooks didn't show when they were suppose .

My first job was working in the cafeteria at college part time.  My first full time job was for a distribution center where I made twice as much more than minimum wage so I liked that very much while I was going to college in the morning and working second shift then going out after that  8)

I got my first job when I was ten. I went to ten neighbors and procured the rights to cutting, trimming and edging their lawns during the summer, raking their lawns during the wall and shoveling their driveways during the winter. I also helped the local newspaper delivery boy and got a few extra dollars. I think that I made more money from age ten through sixteen then I do now...taxes and insurance eat up a huge percentage of paychecks from two jobs that I work! I started working with race horses during the summers for extra money. I moved on to working three jobs at a garden center, a fast food restaurant and a breakfast restaurant at age fifteen and made less/worked more because of taxes (if only I had seen the futility of my efforts back then.

my first job was picking cotton in the cotton fields for someone that was not a family member. It did not pay very well and I did not enjoy it but it was a way of earning money for school.

My first job was answering the phone in a dental office while the dentist was out of town.  It was very quiet, but I was thrilled because I was getting a paycheck!  He asked me to polish his shoes!

First job - input clerk in a data center for a local bank.  Great times - over night hours, night shift differential pay and plenty overtime.

My first job was at an animal hospital at 16. It had plenty of good and bad moments.

My first job was temporary and only lasted a few weeks. My sister's friend who was a supervisor needed someone to help in the financial aid office. It was fun. Wish I could've stayed longer. The paycheck was nice though.

I was a lifeguard and a swim instructor. It was fun, but I kind of regret not getting something a little more meaningful and helpful for my resume.

My first job was a janitor assistant job at my school district.  I liked it because of the people.  It was long 10 hour days though!
