People! People! STOP the blame game.  We can blame it on guns, on our President the mental ill, but I agree with hitch0403, God is coming back soon, so get ready get ready!!!

The only problem is Christians had that mentality millennia ago as well. Both Peter and Paul wrote epistles reminding them that the Day of the Lord can arrive at any time and we must always be ready for His arrival. But at the same time it could be 1,000 years from now and we can't just hide our heads in the sand waiting for Him to return.

If we had that mindset during WWII, we'd all be speaking German right now!
3 While humans can be long-suffering, Jehovah is the supreme example of this quality. In the years since sin disturbed the relationship between Jehovah and his human creation, our Creator has shown patient endurance and has provided the means whereby repentant humans can improve their relationship with him. (2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 4:10) But when his long-suffering has achieved its purpose, God will take action against willful wrongdoers, bringing the present wicked system to an end.—2 Peter 3:7.

So, I don't get this. Against my better judgement, I'm gonna ask: Are you saying it's wrong for us to have stood up to Germany in WWII? We were just supposed to let the Holocaust happen? Let Hitler take over the world?

Hawkeye what ru talking about?I am NOT defending those that called themselves xtians during WWII!

When Jesus spoke of his true followers having love among themselves the so called xtians werent exactly obeying that command. Not to repeat myself the phrase "Babylon the Great"means false empire of christendom...IOW what satan and mankind have built up NOT what Jesus taught.

You see what Jesus told the Pharissees! They said they worshiped God...Jesus told them they served satan. So does christendom today.Just because 1 calls themselves a xtian doesnt mean in Gods eyes they are.

A good tree produces good fruit....a rotten tree produces rotten fruit. You will be able to tell the same with a TRUE xtian and in the case of Jesus even tho he proved beyond a doubt HE was Gods son and backed up everything he taught with his life....they still killed him cos HE exposed their LIES!!!

You compared Christians killing in WWII to radical Islams killing today. I pointed out the difference. I have no idea what got you so sidetracked.

I should explain hitch as a JW has a somewhat aberrant view of what Christianity ought to be. That might explain things somewhat.

JJ you are supposed to support bible?Doesnt God say, vengeance is mine?Again what did Jesus say when Peter cut the ear off of the soldier?

Look,i know where u r coming from. The answer is remaining neutral.Of course if someone breaks into your house and u must defend yourself i think God would understand that or if u were in a store and a terrorist was about to shoot the place up you must defend yourself too or take cover.Dont forget many died NOT bowing down to Hitler!!They knew God would remember them. What did Jesus say was greatest act of love?Giving up your life for others.Too bad many are brain-washed to give it up for the selfish reasons of others and its made to look otherwise!!

You can still love God and neighbor....obey the laws and pay taxes and NOT have to kill for the sake of being BSed!!

Orlando makes my heartbreak.  People out just having a good time when something like that happens.  There but for the grace of God go I.

3 times since Obama has been in office the Dems have tried to put back into effect the law banning assault weapons, blocked by  republicans every time.  There is no reason for people to have assault/machine guns except to kill people.  Our family has a lot of hunters, we own guns for hunting.  So I am not against guns.

Stopping the Holocaust isn't an act of vengeance. Vengeance refers to an act of revenge or retribution. Stopping Hitler meant saving innocent lifes, not vengeance.

Before we go blaming radical Islam,  we might want to check radical Christianity.

The anti-gay rhetoric is the same. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2016/06/13/sacramento-baptist-preacher-praises-orlando-gay-nightclub-attack/

And don't you find that 911 call just a little suspicious?

Radical Christians aren't committing mass murder all over the planet. The actions of radical Islam speaks louder than the "rhetoric" of some radical Christians.

It amazes me how some will rush to blame Christianity over gay wedding cakes, but caution us from blaming Islam over the mass murder of 49 individuals at a gay bar.

They weren't targeted because of the attackers' religion.  They were targeted because they were gay.

And the rhetoric against gays has been most vocal among so-called Christians.  I've also heard the same anti-gay speeches from Muslims and from Hasidic  Jews.

Who needs radical Christians to commit murder all over the planet?  We have the US military for that.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria.  We're there.

"Radical Islam" fits the narrative for perpetual war.  Targeting gays does not.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The same God that commanded Moses and David to war is the same God as today. Obviously, war is not something God wants for His people, but it's the unfortunate result of Fallen Man.

And Jesus gave His Disciples the right to protect themselves.
He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.  It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”

The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”

“That’s enough!” he replied.

Jesus didn't want them armed to protect Himself. He was acting from God's plan. The swords were to protect themselves.

Your insults avail you nothing hitch. Wake up and realize you're  the one not living in the real world. You live in AMERICA. And you ought to thank God EVERY DAY that people fought and died to found this country so you can have the freedom to spew your nonsense. While you're at it, thank God that you don't live in one of the several countries that would execute you for believing what you do.

Why is it okay to have Gay Pride only in the wake of the Orlando shooting?  Why do we only come together as a people of world to support homosexuals, to say we are proud to say we know someone who is and support their community ONLY after tragedy has struck them? Any other time it’s ‘they’re sinning,’  ‘they’re damned,’ ‘they’re an affront to the Lord.’ We organize marches against them, pick on them in schools, and deny them simple civil rights where they can’t even declare themselves married because their ‘marriage’ is not what is ‘legally’ accepted as a marriage.  We have to 'politically correct' claim their boyfriend/girlfriend is a 'partner' rather than what they really mean to each other.  It makes me glad I’m childish and immature.  I don’t see color, creed, sexuality, or nationality.  I see a person who is a person until their actions dictate otherwise (mainly by killing another person, but even then to me they’ve just lost their battle with evil).  I do not judge, even those who have prejudicially judged me, and when they have, I have a child-like faith that tomorrow they will see me different.  If they prove me wrong, I have faith, the day after that they will.  It’s a shame there aren’t more people like me. We wouldn’t need hate, we wouldn’t need war, and we wouldn’t need killing to remind us we are one people of one world, but because they are not enough like me, there will always be hate, war, and killing since that is the only way anyone can stand united.

Yes, they were attacked because they were gay, which is against the attackers religion with the penalty being death. It's both.
