Faked out on a Survey
« on: June 27, 2016, 03:18:03 pm »
I clicked on a FC survey that indicated it would pay $0.25 for 2 minutes.  Because it would only take 2 minutes I figure it was worth doing it.  Upon clicking, I was informed that I no longer qualify for this survey and suggested another survey.  I clicked on "yes" for another survey.  However this new survey did not indicate how much time it would take and how much I would get paid.  I was thinking this new survey was also only going to take 2 minutes.  However about 10 minutes, the questions kept going.  This made me think, maybe I will get paid more than $.25 so I continued the survey until completion. The survey lasted about 30 minutes.  At the end of the survey I only got paid $0.25.  This made me upset because the survey lied to me.  I certainly would not have agreed to pay for a survey that would last 30 minutes for $0.25.   Has this ever happened to anyone out there.  Is there someone we can complain about this type of survey?  Thanks :( :( :(

That's awfully sneaky. I don't bother attempting another survey if the original one kicks me out. I always figure I'll spend a lot of time and then not get credit, because it wasn't the original one.

I never pay attention to how long the survey is supposed to take because it is always wrong. It seems like surveys will claim to take 5 minutes or less, but once you start it takes much longer (more like your example of a half-hour for a supposed "5 minute" survey). Perhaps the timings are based on people just picking answers without really reading and answering the question, yet the patient, meticulous approach is exactly what you're supposed to do to give the survey any meaning. What I really dislike is when the survey uses their bogus timing to determine if a person is taking too long and therefore disqualifies the person (esp. frustrating when you've passed the general demographic questions, are in the meat of the survey, and suddenly are told that you've taken too long and so are disqualified).

I whole-heartedly agree with Faked out on a Survey.  I also, have given up "trying another survey" as this process can go on and on, often without finding a survey I qualify for.  While a few cents for a survey does not add up to a lot per hour, still, I value my time and need to be sure that the time I spend on my cash sites actualy generates cash.  Does fusion still give you a dnq bonus...if so I think this bonus should apply to this situation as well.

I won't do that unless it's something over $1.00. I managed to do one that was $4.00 that I didn't qualify for, but the next one I did. The second one was listed on my page at $0.70 and the only reason I know that, is because I only had 2 on my list at that time!!

You are right....sometimes asking for the next survey does pay off.  Hard to not be impatient and believe it is just a data collecting screen when you go through several and answer the same questions time after time.

That's happened to me a few times, it's a little dishonorable, but it's still $0.25 you didn't have.

I hate spending a lot of time only to be disqualified.  It seems that all of  us have spent enough time on here that the site would know immediately if we qualified or not.

Same thing happend to me.  It stated that only 5 minutes but I think it take me almost 15 minutes of my time.  But in the end I still qualify for the survey and get credited so I'm not complaining at all :)

Thanks for all the comments folks.  At least I know I was not the only one that was duped.

Chalk it up as a learning experience.  Over the years, I've learned to watch how long they say the survey will be and how much it will pay.  If, for some reason, that 10 minute survey turns in to a 30 minute survey, I'm outta there unless it's paying more than a dollar and tells me so.  If one pops up like yours did (with no length of time and no idea what it will pay), I exit out and move on.
