Overtime
« on: June 29, 2016, 02:17:53 pm »
Do you work overtime at work? I use to work a lot of overtime at my old job, it was offered and I had the energy and less health problems. now I do not work much overtime at all and my health issues and energy has a lot to do with it.

"Overtime" is where the money is. "One and a half pay" very few employers/companies now offer.

I work as much as I can to support the family. I can rest when I get old. That's also why I do fusioncash.

Overtime is rarely offered here unless things get really desperate.  If anything I would work the holiday for extra pay.

I do work overtime some times due to the nature of the job.....we cannot just leave the site when the clock shows that our shift is up.  We have to be relieved by the next person on the schedule.

The company prefers we don't go into overtime, but it is unavoidable at times.

The extra time and half does really make a nice addition to the paycheck!

The rules for overtime have changed starting tomorrow  July 1 .   We work 37.5 hours and use to get overtime now we have to work 40 hours before overtime kicks in.    Our company usually asks us to leave early if we have overtime

In my old job, about 20% of my pay was from overtime - a big chunk.  Now I work in a library and they NEVER EVER pay overtime. Too bad.  I wouldn't mind the extra hours.

Not in years. The company doesn't like paying it.
