I stopped getting magazine subscriptions when I was twelve years old, a boy scout and getting Boy's Life. I read whatever is at the Barber or Doctor's office. Or I'll buy a magazine at the store. Subscriptions can be a pain in the you know what. I get pretty fried when organizations get their members out on the street pushing subscriptions (after their families have said no). If it is a good charity I will just hand the subscription seller ten dollars and tell them to give that to the charity. Once you subscribe your name is added to a large data base and you become a target for every piece of junk mail known to human kind. It is getting just as bad with cookies on computers. Look up something like adidas tennis shoes on google and you will see advertisements for adidas tennis shoes everyt ime you access the internet from that computer.

Does anyone notice that they are about equally articles mixed with ads? I like magazines but they resort to too many advertisements.

So does radio. I get so tired of the same ads over and over and over, ad infinitum.  :bs:

I had Time and Readers Digest but gave them up. I felt I was wasting my money because I hardly read any of the issues.

I got a years' free subscription to Redbook that ran out in the last few months. I didn't at first know how I was getting them, but figured it must have been from a survey, because there was no other way. lol I actually enjoyed them. There was some useful information, and just found it overall a bit uplifting. I don't see myself spending money on subscriptions except to Psychology Today, in the future.
