Although I can't say I have a favorites recipe, I do enjoy using my slow cooker - especially when I want a meal all-in-one.

I bought my first slow cooker about 6 months ago. To be honest, I don't know if I really appreciated its' purpose before I purchased it. You see, I have a cast iron dutch oven which historically, I have always used for slow cooking. However this meant I had to have my oven on for many hours, and now that I live in Idaho where the temperatures can reach over 100 degrees for many months of the year, this was not practical. Whereas, with a slowcooker, you just plug it in and leave it for many hours to slowly simmer and it cooks meat beautifully tender. I would leave the house with the electrical slow cooker on, but I would never consider leaving the oven on. I wished I'd bought it many years ago.

I love my slow cooker.

I make a lot of soups in the fall and winter, early spring. I get to use the veggies I grew all summer.

Fall is coming, and I will dig out the recipes. They are quick, easy, and keep the kitchen less cluttered.

I have 3 crock pots, rarely use but one at a time. 2 are large and heavy. the third one is one of the first crock pots to coe out. Mother brought it for me and i am still using it. It is smaller then the other 2. Also have a small electric roaster and i use it a lot. But i do love cooking in the  crock pots. When i am gone all day it is great to have something cooked when i get home.  Am always looking for recipies and trying them. Some are great and other well i won't  cook them again.

I use it sometime when I want a change of pace.  I usually make a chicken dish which is very easy and always tender.

I do! It's funny, I go through phases of using it. I will use it a ton for a few weeks and then wont see it for months. I guess it just depends on how my schedule is going.

I have two slow cookers.  One large and one small.  Enjoy both of them, it really makes a difference when I need to cook a meal and have it really at a certain time without having to be concerned about it burning.

I have a 3 1/2 , 5 , and 7 qt oval  and I use them all. Baked beans or Spaghetti sauce are probably my favorites. The 7 qt is great for big batches of soups an stews in the winter.
At Christmas  I have made mashed potatoes. Saves time and space on the stove!
