Anyone Else get their meds from CVS?
« on: August 27, 2016, 03:16:36 am »
I get my medicine from CVS.  I always have for years.  The problem is for the past few months the one I use let the old-timers go and hired young people who don’t do as good a job.  I’ve gotten the right label on the bag but the wrong medicine inside but that doesn’t beat getting the right label with the right box inside but the box was empty.  I use a prescription allergy nasal spray twice a day, every day because I’m allergic to mold and mildew.  I can’t afford to mess around with that because if I don’t use my nasal spray the dust allergens transform into phlegm and too much of that in my system and I’m vomiting, which will be a trip to the ER.  If that happens I should just charge the bill to CVS.  I mean I get they want younger, cheaper workers but can’t they hire people who know what they are doing?  This is medicine!  People’s lives are in their hands and they act like they don’t even care.  So sad.

Unfortunately, I think with the onset of online pharmacies, the pharmaceutical tech profession is losing ground. I've known several young people who have started training for the job, and not completed their certification because they've discovered it isn't the lucrative career that it used to be. I'm sure this affects the quality of what kind of training there is. I'm sorry to hear your story though. Accurate seems awfully important when it comes to Meds ( and considering how much they cost, mistakes would be costly as well!)

I certainly hope you've reported what you've told us here to the Pharmacist in Charge at your local CVS AND to CVS Corporate.  Too many people depend upon getting the RIGHT medication when they fill their prescriptions.  Mistakes like these could kill someone.

That's mistakes would kill people, I would change other brand of CVS.  Some other CVS are better than the other, it really depend on the people who works there.

Sorry you are having issues with CVS. I have used the same CVS for many years and saw changes in staff. Lucky for me I have not encountered any problems. Try transferring your prescriptions elsewhere or try home delivery like my mom does.

I usually go to Walgreens, but I am going to try CVS because I have been having issues with Walgreens lately. It takes forever to fill simple prescriptions like vitamins. They say my order is going to be ready in an hour then it is canceled and I have to wait until the next day. They are also slow in there.

I use to but I found them not to be very friendly and they sometimes didn't have medicine I ordered ready. Also the staff seemed very gospiy behind the counters!

I have to go to CVS because my insurance will only let me use CVS (which I hate that about my insurance.) But yes, I have trouble there too.

I don't have any regular prescriptions, but when I get sick and need a prescription, I usually go to CVS. Our local CVS is good; they still have the same people working there, and they know what they are doing, so we don't have any problems. I'm sorry to hear that the personnel changes have made your experiences so bad.

I do not  I prefer our locally owned pharmacy    prices are very good and you always get treated well because they know you and your medical history and are more caring and helpful

Sad...but true! It is the reason for which I go to Walmart: Cheaper and better customer service!
