Texting and Driving
« on: August 30, 2016, 11:40:04 am »
What I hate the most when your driving and someone else is driving and want to cut right in front of you , and then you notice they are trying to text someone while driving . or talking . like really people , there other people on the streets , for you to be trying to text . i know i can't even text and drive, there no way .. plus its dangerous and it can cause a lot of wrecks. i just think people should keep there phone up an'til you get to where your going . where ever your going i am sure it can wait an'til you get to that place .  or tell them your going to be on the road and you'll text them when you stop..

It really isn't that hard to pull off to the side of the road and finish a text. It's dangerous to text and drive. Actually, it's dangerous to tet and do almost anything. It only takes a few seconds...it isn't worth the risk.

I absolutely hate people that text and drive :( So many accidents can happen, and innocent people can get hurt just because one person had to finish texting... I always tell my friends to give me their phone when they are driving and to tell me what to text, I don't support texting and driving at all  :(

I don't see how anyone can still text and drive if they've seen any of the videos showing what can happen.  :o

My daughter and granddaughter both use their GPS on their smartphones while they're driving and I can't convince them how dangerous it is.

Most people I know use their cell phone when driving and I've been guilty a few times myself. Really not very smart.  :monkey:

Texting and driving is dangerous.  Whatever is so important is not worth risking safety and lives.

It's truly amazing how far technology has come over the years.  Unfortunately it can come with a heavy price tag ( and I'm not talking about the cost of the gadget ).

Some time ago I came up to a green light on the highway.  Thankfully for me, I treated it more like a yield sign by looking for oncoming traffic before going to the intersection.

Sure enough, someone ran the light and I would have been hit if I hadn't already stopped.  And, yes, the driver was texting or otherwise being very distracted by the phone.

I think the next new technology should be that no hands on phones can operate while in the driver's seat of a moving vehicle.

I have blue tooth in my car and still hate talking on the phone while I am driving.  I hate when someone text me because I get a notification on my screen and then I get tend to get distracted.  I always hit ignore.  I feel if it is that important you can call me.

I never ever use my phone in my truck.... EVER  !!! its with me for one reason if i break down as i'm a single person and travel alone all the time. If i need to use the phone its in a store parking lot.. Things can wait .. I wish every one felt like I do and would stop doing it.  Its very scary thinking about the fact i have to watch out for people who don't even care about their own life let alone mine!

At my church we had a lawyer come in and talk to mostly teens about texting and driving, he showed a video of teen who had been doing just that and he ended up hitting someone who was walking along the side of the road, and now he has to pay for all of her medical bills, lady was injured really bad, but since he was a teenager at the time his parents had to do it. I have a niece who also do the same thing, i tell her she should pay attention to the road, especially when she have her kids in the car with her.
