Free Alternative to Cable
« on: September 01, 2016, 06:57:42 am »
I decided to start this thread as some users on here don't have cable due to prices (as read on another thread)
Everything I am about to post is FREE services as you only need internet connection (home or wifi) NOTHING more! No email, no credit card- nothing!
These apps you can you use on your smartphone, computer and/or Xbox 360 (Not sure about other gaming consoles as the Xbox 360 is all we have)

1- Crackle (they post movies every month & they have their own original t.v. series, they even have popular Anime) -I did make a profile with only my Facebook so they remember my movies or t.v. shows I had been watching. www.crackle.com

2- Popcornflix (They post movies (new ones throughout the month) & older t.v. shows from past seasons) This one also has a kids section. And has a bigger selection then Crackle with both movies & t.v. shows but both sites have different movies & t.v. shows on them. www.popcornflix.com

I know there are more sites out there but the only reason I had saved these to my computer & got the apps on the gaming console is because the selection of movies are awesome & of course it is free.

I thought about hooking a computer up to my TV and using the network websites to watch their programs. I just need to buy a special cable for it, but don't know if hubby would understand how to work it. He's far from being a techie. He just learned how to use the remote last year but don't know how to use the guide to change channels or see what's on. :)

My husband hooked our older modem tower up to our flat screen t.v. which had a port for our computer already. Our newest t.v we would have had to purchase the cable which if I am not mistaking you can purchase on Amazon for under $10.00 because I looked into it before deciding just to keep our gaming console hooked up to the that t.v.
