Whatever you do, DO NOT use the stuff from the store. They kill on contact, but don't work as a repellent. Also, DO NOT use regular bug spray. It works to repel, but only from where you sprayed it and they will move to other rooms. They're hard to kill. My husband got them a year before we got married - one of his friends had them and thought he had checked all of his things thoroughly before asking my husband to store some of it for him until he could get moved. Nope.

The landlord tried to pass it off on my husband being dirty, which he wasn't and still isn't (that's not how you get them anyway; they're attracted to blood, not dirt and food), but in the end the landlord had to pay for an exterminator to come out 3 times to finally get rid of them all, and his infestation was considered to be fairly mild.

I hope you're able to get this situation fixed. Also, be sure to look up the Landlord/Tenant laws in your area - always ALWAYS know your rights as a tenant, especially if you happen to find yourself in a "slum lord" situation like this.

EDIT: I dunno what it bleeped where the word "pass" is now, but I guess it wasn't filter-friendly lol I don't remember what word was there.

So sorry for you. I would have called the landlord and make them deal with it.

So i found out that since i'm renting the place i essentially can't sue my landlord if i own this place is when i can take action, the only thing i could hope for is to be reimbursed when my lease is up and that is'nt for another year! on top of that the landlord is appraising my house and the only thing i can really hope for is the reimbursement which they can only pay HALF of what i INITIALLY put down on the house (Which Was $2000.) I can't even believe this is happening to me!  :( :( :(

I know usually the pest control can get rid of the bed bugs but they cost a lot.

That's terrible! I would definitely reach out to landlord and see what he can do. If he refuses to do anything, check on something called "tenant's rights" and see if anything is covered under that. My sister had a problem with the house she is renting, and as soon as she mentions "tenant's rights", the landlord right away fixed the problem. In the meantime, see if you can get a professional cleaning service to help rid of the bedbugs. Even if you have to foot the bill right now, it's better than having to suffer with those nasty things. Plus you can always try to have your landlord reimburse you. Hope it all works out for you!

See if you can take pictures of them and send to landlord. Just like rats a tenant has a right to not have to suffer in silence about these pests.

I Guess you guys are right it's so much better than having to go through this mess i just really can't take it anymore i should'nt have to go through this and if i knew about this before i would have NEVER rented into this house i feel like i fell into a trap and this is truly unfair but i'm gonna fight against this and get what i deserve because as much as i pay MONTHLY for this house i should ABSOLUTELY NOT have a problem with it.  :bad: :bad: :bad:

If you are having bed bug issues, they may also be in the walls! They like warm dry places and insulation is a perfect hiding spot!! Do you have renters insurance? I would also call an attorney and get some advice on what to do to protect yourself.

My next door neighbor in my apartment building has a bad infestation and I have caught them coming through the walls into my place! Even in broad daylight. I have been treating and washing and scrubbing everything until I am exhausted. I guess I will have to stay on top of it until I can find a new apartment as our landlord doesn't seem to care about it. I have found out that 91% and 99% Rubbing Alcohol when sprayed on them will kill them. I have tested it and it works. I carry the spray bottle around my apartment at all times lol

I had a relative stay at my home for a few days months ago, turned out they had an infestation at their home.
So I immediately went in to precaution mode, because what if...    I read tons of articles & it was almost easier to just burn down the home to get rid of them.    We purchased a couple nontoxic bug sprays, bed bug bully turned out to be the less obnoxious smelling & safe for people/pets.   We sealed off rooms & let them heat up, thankfully we were having over a 100' weather then.  We put Diatomaceous Earth all round beds and furniture.   We bought Rubbing Alcohol and daily sprayed clothes on floors, furniture, etc...      We washed and heat treated all pillows and beddings.      Although, it was a pain, we never saw a bed bug, but we kept up for about a month, we still use alcohol, it's just smart & is multiple purpose for germs.     Thankfully our pr emitted strike worked against a potential infestation.

Do the alcohol spray for sure.   It's easy, and cheap and kills bugs on contact.   And vacuum daily.   I put double sided take all around the couches and beds to see if any could be trapped in the sticky part, & none were.     It's a good way to check for bugs.

Good luck !!!

HELP!

I just recently moved into a house very nice house, big spacious has 2 bathrooms 4 bedrooms, and i was thinking about renting out some rooms since its so nice and big but after 4 months of living there i have been noticing that i have been getting these bites on my legs... then one day while i was cleaning... i noticed a bug on my bed... i captured it and i started to do some research on the bug... initially i thought it was a tick but then i came to realize that it was bedbugs... i started getting bed covers, and even got powders and sprays but i still see them around. albiet i dont get bitten as much anymore i still see them here and there... this house i live in i pay rent of 1500 a month including a person i live nextdoor with! it was after 2 months that i realized i was paying for someone else's electricity and water expenses!!!! the house came with so many flaws!!! the water heater didnt work meaning that i bathed in cold water at first so after about a month i had to get somebody to fix that, there were 2 rooms that had no Electricity in the light bulb sockets... the oven doent even work so i had to buy a mini-oven (But Stove Works), and for a while the outlets one by one started going out.... all of a sudden... i had my air conditioning started going on and off. i literally had to call every single day just to get my landlord to fix these problems but for a long time she intentionally did not answer me. when my electrician FINALLY came over to fix my air conditioning and electricity he Even Said "I Promised Myself That i'd Never Come Back Here Again" i asked why and he said that the people who lived there before were SO DIRTY he could not even walk into the house without walking into trash on the floor let alone could he even see it. it took him 45 mins to go into the attic JUST TO SEE THE PROBLEM with the house's electricity and FIX IT. on top of that he said the house had RATS Which carried BEDBUGS and ROACHES. but since i lived here i have only seen bedbugs ONLY. i want to know how to get rid of these PESKY bugs And How To KEEP Them Away!!!!! Any Suggestions?  :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad:

If you pay rent I would go to the owner.  But they may say you brought the bugs.  It is not easy to get rid of them.  And the crap you buy at Walmart ain't going to do it.  You are going to have to pay big bucks for a professional to come in a spray.
