Do you ever...
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:44:49 am »
Do you ever just watch the news, locally and globally, and just want to sit down and have a cry?

I'm constantly coming back to one of my favorite movies/novels, The Green Mile, and one particular quote from the character John Coffey: "Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it."

Great movie, and yes that's my sentiment sometimes when it seems to be nothing but problems on the news. I also fear for the next generation and the world that we're leaving for them...

Yes, I watch the news every day and it is so sad.  But you need to know what's going on in the world

Bad news? Do not even bother watching them on TV.

I don't even watch the news. I do site content and social media management for a local company, so I'm constantly online and on various social media platforms, and news is hard to miss when it's a trending topic and everyone's talking about it. There's no off switch for that unfortunately; hazards of an Internet-based job.

I don't watch news on television anymore because it is so bad all the time. I get most of my news through social media and websites. It seems more palatable that way!

I wouldn't say I want to cry, but the recent world events are enough to disturb me. It's just such a shame, all the hate and violence. I don't want my kids growing up to see these things. Maybe if we weren't all in a race/religion war, this world wouldn't be such an evil place. Nobody's "God" is better than the other. If there is a God, he/she/it loves everyone the same, and has created everyone equal. There is no reason to judge a person by the color of their skin. I understand that some people are just truly corrupt, and cannot be peaceful. Those are the people we must protect ourselves from. But this everyday terrorism and race war needs to end, otherwise we are all going to suffer, no matter if you are man, woman, white, black, Catholic, Muslim, etc.

I watch our local news for the weather forecast and the area high school sports scores.  It does get depressing to listen to it!  We only hear the negative stories.
Have a wonderful day!

don't want to cry but would like to knock some people out. Hate the stories about babies dying in hot cars or animals. Or babies being shot  or hurt  those are the worst.

I watch the news, but it is becoming harder and harder to believe what some of the liberal news people are saying, i know they are biased and are rooting for Hillary and it is not fair to Trump. Yes he sometimes gets on my nerves, but i am still going to vote for him. Because i  can't stand someone who who is always lying through their teeth.  She is bad news and has been for 30 or more years. Sometimes i also just want to stand up and scream . Why can't they  tell the truth about things. Like there are almost twice as many whites shot by cops then their is blacks but it is all about the blacks. and almost half as many latinos are shot then blacks. I feel  they are just race baiters

most people who have severe reaction to the news are advised by professionals to simply stop watching or reading it. If anything is really important someone will tell you about it.I lived in Panama for a year and got little American news.I had little trouble picking it up when i got back to the US

I rarely watch the news now. It is just depressing. I am tired of seeing all of these random shootings and children dying. Even though I know bad things are going on in the world, the news just makes it more real and makes you feel paranoid.
