Watching the weather
« on: September 26, 2016, 08:38:31 am »
Another monsoon storm rolling through AZ, BUT it's going the wrong way! LOL! Our storms usually go from West to East, this one is going East to West! Rolling right off the Mountains into Tucson. :P I'm watching it thinking, someone forgot to flip the switch! LOL! Ah... so fun to watch our multi-polar (as in north, south, east and west poles) weather not be able to decide which way it wants to go!

Although, I have to say, the one storm we had a few months ago was really confused. First it goes North, then it decided to go East, then decided to go in a circle. Yup, I think whoever was in charge of that storm was arguing over the map and which way it was supposed to be going!!

I wonder if we will get snowed on this year...

I'm happy to get one more storm out of our monsoon season! (Is it officially still going?) It's sure been nice out lately.

Storms can be very unpredictable and very destructive. We have had an extremely hot, humid summer here in Tennessee.  Our storms usually consist of lots of lightening and rain, and wind.  Today, it's perfect and I know the people who have had to work outside in the heat for the past few weeks are grateful for the relief.

I wish some rain would make it to the east coast. We are in a big time drought. We are do for some rain tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it! :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

I am constantly watching weather reports! I aim to drive my scooter to work ten times a month and I check the weather for the upcoming nine days. I check the weather for about five days for my jeep to see if I will need to put the top on. I double check the weather at around noon every day because Colorado weather can change in the blink of an eye.  I also get up and walk to the Western windows once every three to four hours to see if there is anything unexpected blowing in or, if rain is expected, I check to see if it is following it's anticipated course. Once snow season hits I am not as concerned because I throw a hard top on the jeep and do not really strive to drive the scooter. We are looking at about five days worth of gorgeous weather ahead but may get hit with rain, freezing rain and possibly snow next Tuesday.

We got slammed by a burst last night. Should have heard it! Sounded like the cloud just popped and all the water came down at once! Then another one rolled through fairly quickly.

There was a pretty bad one today too. Lots of wind and dust kicking up before the weather decided to get wet!

I am relieved the cool air has hit Wisconsin.  The wind has been nuts, however. It is like we moved right into mid-fall.  One day it was too windy to work out in the garden.

One thing about fall here, the garden gets tucked away for winter.  Kinda nice to be getting a break soon, and use all those lovely veggies in the freezer. Today, Cabbage roll soup.

I am just gonna hunker down, watch the weather, seasonal changes, and plan next year's garden.
