My mom rarely ever cooked and just bought stuff for sandwiches all the time. To this day, I cannot stand eating ham sandwiches because we ate them all the time. I'll eat it if it's my only option, but I'd really rather not lol

My Mom always made this big pot of Squash for her family.  The only person who ate it was my Mom.  It doesn't look good or taste good.  She finally stopped making it.

I don't think there is anything she or my granma's made I would not eat. I do know, I double check the chicken when she cooks!!

When my mom cooked cabbage I would go off to spend the day by a friend. Not only did I not like the taste I hated the smell of it cooking !! I have never cooked it and don't plan to try to.

I can't stand liver, green lima beans, or peas. I used to drown the liver in mustard just so I could eat it. Lima beans and peas are mushy and have no flavor. My mom never tried to jazz them up. The only time I eat peas is when they're in a soup with chicken and other vegetables. Otherwise, I don't eat them and certainly don't buy them.

My mother made fresh homemade cinnamon rolls.  They were great.  She would also make homemade jams and jellies (not so great) She just doesn't have the knack for it...  she would put the jams in the center of the rolls.  And I'd turn my nose up.  One time I threw a roll in the trash.  She dug it out and made me eat it.  To this day I can't stomach eating rolls with jellies in them at her house.

Liver and onions but the cool thing is she never made us eat anything that made us sick to think about.  She made enough for herself and anyone else who would eat it and I would eat PBJ or leftovers from the night before or whatever I could find.

Brussel Sprouts and cooked spinach.....gag!!!

I do eat fresh spinach, but it is not in my top 10.

I used to hate the smell of cooked cabbage too.  However, my son loves it, so I grow red cabbage in the garden. I have started eating cabbage in casseroles and soup, and it is very good....not to mention highly nutritious.

From reading this thread, glad mom never cooked tripe :)

Canned peas.  Hated them, still do.  I have tried to eat fresh peas thinking now as an adult I would like those, nope.  Also, like many others, liver and onions.  I remember thinking the liver and onions looked so good but I just could not eat it.

Having read the posts here I'm surprised that so many folks don't like beets.   I love them.
