your surveys is doing that alot here lately. I cant stand it cuz they are selling our info to lists for spammers.

they even went so far the other day as to want me to send them back an text message after they sent me a code.

No way!!

what really p's me off is the ask you this then boot you out of the survey on the next page!

Thank you all so much for your input here, that's what I thought, they should at least protect our personal information knowing that now a days there's a lot of identity theft.

Never give out your cell number that is how all the spam starts.   I really do not like giving out my address need to feel comfortable with the company.

Some sites want your cell phone # as extra security. That's bull! I have a cell phone but it's for emergencies only so I never give out that number. I've already turned on my phone only to have 15-20 messages on it. No one has my # except hubby, so they're all sales calls.

I've done it dozens of times. I have to block spammers on my cell phone, but I have a nice app that just hangs up on numbers I've blocked so I rarely get them. As for my address, I never cared because they can type it in Google and find it on page one. I've never once received spam in the mail. I guess those companies are too cheap to pay for stamps.

I just don't care about spam because it's easy to block. And I'm sure all my personal information is all over the internet anyway.

It depends on the survey and what website sponsors it. I try to avoid giving away personal information at all costs.

It really depends on the situation. I once participated in a trial for a VERY well known company, didn't mind giving them my address. But generally, no I don't give out my personal info or let a survey use my webcam.

I do not ever give out full phone number or full address. Not for any survey.

Can you explain the problem with using a webcam? I've never done that, but I'm interested in hearing your issue with it. I had never heard before that it might be problematic.

Is it just a privacy issue?

It's a privacy issue. Some people worry that if they allow webcam access, their webcam is always open to that other party, or they get hacked.
