Thanks to all of you that are giving of your time even though for some of you it is a real sacrifice.  May God bless each of you with double in return for what you give.

I think it's great that you volunteer your time to do things for free! You don't see that kind of spirit too much in the newer generations. It's all about the money and how much they can make and spend. I've alwaused believed that no matter how old you are, if you stay active and involved, you can overcome many of the challenges of aging. It's people like you that give me hope for my future!

When I first moved to the area where I live now, I had a hard time finding a job so I volunteered too. I volunteered at my children's school for one year and then I volunteered at a Hospice for the other. I liked it because I was active and got to socialize with other people instead of sitting home alone just passing time.

I would love to volunteer, but it is SO difficult to do in the midst of my other commitments (e.g., work and school).  However, in an ideal situation where I had all the time in the world to volunteer, I would do so for a soup kitchen on a children's recreation center.
