I meet a lot of people on a daily basis.
When I see two particular ladies I know [ they are waitresses], I used to call "Jessica" Judy and "Judy" Jessica.
After some time, I can distinguish between them.

Yea I think that is normal. Once you get to know people better like identical twins and what not I feel like you learn to distinguish between them!

I think that happens to people more frequently than not. But switching gears a little, I do believe that everybody has a doppleganger. I know it sounds crazy, and at first, I didn't find the theory very interesting, but the more I've looked into it, the more I am starting to believe it. I mean, think about it for a second: all the billions of people on this planet, and the DNA sequence can't repeat itself at least once? I don't buy it. I think there are probably several people who look exactly like you. Now their personality may be different. Their biological processes may be different. But the physical characteristics, those are the same as yours. It just doesn't seem possible for there to be an infinite number of DNA combinations that would allow each person to look different. Well, that's my crazy conspiracy and I'm sticking to it! I hope to meet my doppleganger one day, do you?

I think that is a fairly common experience.  Probably increases with age.

I've always been terrible with recognizing people, and identical twins---forget it.  But I have no trouble remembering people's pets names, often years later.
