Brawny Videos

I am enjoying the Brawny Presents:  Everyday Giants videos.  These videos are in Watch This Video

One shows Steve Shelton teaching released inmates out to lay brick and block.  His philosophy is to train people how to rejoin society....rather than spending $50K a year keeping a person in jail; he takes $6-$8K to hire instructors to encourage and train them.  The person now has a trade, a way to make a living.  The re-incarceration rate for Pennsylvania was 22.5% for people going back to jail within a year of release.  For inmates going through the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh, that rate dropped down to 5%. 

Giving people encouragement, hope and a trade rather than just lock 'em and let 'em out later with nothing is a great lesson.... one inmate/student/graduate of the Trade Institute said, "to have people who"don't know you from a can of spray paint BELIEVE in you" helps them believe in themselves and gets them on to a better way of life.

Steve Shelton spent 2 1/2 years in the '90s laying brick and block in the construction of the Allegheny County Jail. Today, he helps released inmates stay out of that same jail.

I have been watching the Brawny Videos and found them very interesting.

Agree, it's great when the videos are fun to watch.  I'm enjoying the Brawny videos as well.

When they first started showing up, I would watch them. However lately whenever I get a Brawny video, it just seems to be stuck trying to load. I've actually let it try to load for ~5 minutes once, and after that trial I just decided that they weren't going to load properly. So now when I see it's for Brawny, I'll close it out and try a different video instead

I haven't seen the Brawny videos but they sound interesting, I will keep an eye out for them.
