Malls or individual retail stores?
« on: October 25, 2016, 05:06:11 am »
Do you prefer to shop at indoor shopping malls or individual retail stores? I prefer
malls because i can go from store to store without  getting to cold or hot because i am
Not out doors. There are stores, restaurants, movie theatre and rest rooms
all under one roof. They Also have lockers for our coats and boots.

I like the convience of malls,  Although, i do still go to retail stores outside
of the mall.

Our mall is horrible, and they generally seem on the decline.  So retail stores.

A local business if possible, but so many of those have been closed thanks to malls and national chain stores, so I usually just get what I want online. UNLESS it's an item I'd rather see in person like shoes, then it's an individual store... albeit a chain...

It depends. If I'm looking for something specific and want to just get in and get out, I will go to a retail store. But if I'm browsing for several items, bored, or just want to window shop, I'll hit up my local mall.

It mainly depends on what I'm looking for. If I want a specific something, I will go to a store which specializes in that item. If I'm looking for a birthday gift for instance, but I don't really know where to start, I will go to a mall where there are lots of shops. I must admit I'm more inclined to go to a mall nearer to Christmas time when there are decorations galore and everyone is in the spending spirit! One thing I love to do in a mall is visit the eateries, particularly the Mongolian BBQ which my kids love. Then, we make a day of it!

Being from the state that started malls, I can definitely understand why.... Our MN winters get so cold sometimes that you hate having to be outside any more than you have to. Thus going to a mall where you can get all of your shopping done all in one building seems like a God-send. I think that's why the Super Walmarts and Super Targets are so popular up here too.

I haven't been to an indoor mall in years.  It used to be where we, as teenagers, used to hang out.
What is becoming trendy out here in So Cal are outdoor malls that have the stores right on the street. They are quite fancy.

I prefer individual stores... except during Christmas time, then I like the ambiance of the outdoor malls.

Neither! My family sees what they want and I buy it on line, from the comfort of my own home. I avoid crowds, Nasty people, Gas expense, other cars causing damage to my car, forty minutes of drive time to and from the mall, sales tax, a wider choice of options, extremely rare is the internet out of stock. I don't deal with burned out sales people and never settle for the next best thing.  I am rarely a victim to impulse buying when online and if I am it is because ten other items matching my purchase are offered or items that other people have purchased when buying my item of interest. There doesn't appear to be any need to push crummy items that people do not want based on sales quotas. I don't give money to overly capitalized box shops. So neither is my overly explained answer. If I really had to I would go to a small boutique shop.

I prefer malls.  At malls I can browse as much as I want in a variety of stores all located under one continuous roof.  Also find different venues for whatever I might need.   :) :) :) :)

It depends on location. For instance, we have several local malls, but I may only hit up one or two stores to get items. If I have a game plan, like getting a bunch of stuff, I will check to see where the nearest store is. Where I live, there are 3 malls nearby, but still is some distance to drive. They have a variety of stores in them, but I would say the one I frequent the most is only a few miles away. It has a huge Barnes and Noble in it.
