I can't say I've lost a lot of weight, but I am trying to lose weight to get healthier and make some better choices about food and exercise. I am trying to walk my dog about two miles a day - I use a sport tracker so I can see how many calories I burnt. I realise this may not be exact, but I do find it motivating. I'm also trying to make sure I don't eat too much and preferably, what I do eat should not have too much salt, fat or sugar. It's a lot to take on board and on no day and I perfect, but I have to accept I'm doing better than I would had I not made the decision to live a healthier life.

I lose it and find it off and on depending on how rigorous my schedule is. If I am super busy, as I have been for the last month, I do not have time to eat more than two meals per day and absolutely no time to work out. Even getting a water break is questionable. I tend to lose about twenty five pounds during periods just described. It is not a healthy weight loss and body looks yucky. Two months ago I was not as busy and had files that took forever to download at home which gave me time to raid the refrigerator. I would usually put fifteen pounds on with that regimen. I don't believe that diet alone can give you the body you desire. Physical activity needs to be a consistent part of everyday life. I had four hours off on Sunday and spent three of it in the gym, sauna and hot tub...came out completely invigorated.

I lost 30 pounds by giving up sodas and sweets. I also go to the gym.

My husband was diagnosed with type two diabetes, and we are now counting carbs.  I didn't realize how much sugar we were both eating until we started learning and keeping track of it.  Just watching that sugar intake has helped us both lose weight.  And he no longer has to take medicine to control his diabetes.

Barring a medical condition that prevents it, there is NO TRICK.

You eat less, you eat food that is healthier and less processed. You move more. Use an app or something on your phone. I have used My Fitness Pal in the past. You log your food and you log your exercise.

Losing weight, 99% of the time, is not nearly as complicated as people make it.

My issue was actually being able to gain weight and maintain a relatively healthy weight. Lots of peanut butter helped with that! L-tyrosine, I think it is, is supposed to help curb appetite (not in an unhealthy way). I take that along with 5-HTP, but it's for depression and anxiety purposes.  :)
