Anyone subscribe to beauty boxes?
« on: November 07, 2016, 06:31:35 am »
What ones do you subscribe to & would you recommend?

I have tried Ipsy for $10.00 a month in the past but was pretty upset with just five trial sized beauty products that didn't even last a week. The samples were from some good name branded companies but it's stuff I could get walking in the mall & going up to the counters, minus the cute small bag that did come with every monthly delivery but in my opinion not worth the ten dollars a month. I guess I wasn't lucky enough to receive a full sized product as many people claim in their monthly boxes, so I canceled my monthly subscription to them.

Now I use Walmart beauty box. They only do seasonal boxes, Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall and they charge $5.00 per seasonal box you sign up for. I have received two boxes from them so far & am pleased because I do get my money's worth.
My first box after signing up with them was the summer box and I was surprised because I had assumed it would only be samples as well with coupons but they also sent me two full sized items. My Fall box was just as exciting one full sized item, one deluxe sample, six regular samples & coupons. I would recommend this one because the money spent only four times a year (if you sign up for all four seasonal boxes) & the amount of items plus coupons you are getting is a great deal.

I know there are a lot of beauty boxes out there so what are some of the ones you have tried and liked or disliked?

Not sure if I want to do a beauty one as I have a lot of stuff at home but maybe more a lifestyle one like FitFabFun.

When I first heard about this I thought it was such a great idea. However, it seems to be expensive. Do you get full sized items or samples?

In my original post I explained how Walmart beauty box does send full size products. I cannot say for the rest other then Ipsy which I never did receive a full size product from that company.

No, not really. I have never subscribed to any of these delivery schemes whereby you regularly receive packages containing an assortment of products. I don't subscribe because I am worried it will be a waste of money. I fear I will receive a lot of things I won't like, or won't be able to use. I don't have a huge amount of spare cash (hence my registration with Fusion Cash) and would rather spend it on items I am sure to use. I'd be interested to know how everybody else gets on though.

I never use that stuff, I like the looks of the boxes just not all the things that are in them.

I did Birchbox for a while. I liked it, but $10 a month for samples was a little much for me. The products were good, but I couldn't afford to buy the full size versions of what I liked. I signed up for the Walmart box recently and just got the Fall box. It's not quite as fancy as the Birchbox samples, but at least I can afford the products that I like from the box.
