Just keep wearing glasses and you'll get used to them. It's always a big shock.

I wear progressives, basically the same just without the lines,  I do not remember if the stairs were a problem as I have been wearing them so long, at this time for me I read better without them as well as working on my laptop; just can's seem to see as well with them on when doing those things so I just take them off! but I think you will get use to them the more you wear them, sometimes I still adjust them tring to make sure things are in focus! Good Luck!

Since this is your first time wearing glasses, you have to gradually get use to them.  Don't move too fast or you will get dizzy.

I'm sure that bifocals would be an adjustment, I would use them when needed, till you get used to them!

For some it may take a little while to get use to bifocal glasses.  You have to wear them until it stop affecting the balance.

I got my first pair of bifocals when i was 14.  Yeah i know i was young.  When i put them on and started down the steps  at the post office, missed the first step.  My cousin helped me down the rest of the way and i had to take them off at school going up and down the steps for classes until i  got really used to them.  But soon i did.
