What are some things you do this month to celebrate the holidays?

We go to church Christmas Eve, then spend Christmas morning at home and leave about noon to go to our best friends house to celebrate this their family.

No traditions as this is only my second Xmas in America... but I love decorating, even just a small thing like LED color lights makes me happy...
and then possibly bake something

One of the things I do is buy chocolate covered cherries.

Every year since they were married, my Dad would buy a box of chocolate covered cherries, wrap them and put them under the tree for my Mom.
He passed away in early December (40 years ago) so that year, I bought and wrapped the cherries and put them under the tree.
It became something I did every year.
My Mom passed 3 years ago, and I still buy chocolate covered cherries to go under the tree.

We bake cookies and decorate of course. We don't have too many traditions in my family.

We go to McAdenville every year and walk around.  It's an entire town that does Christmas lights.  You can either drive through it or walk.  We walk around the entire town, takes about an hour and a half but you can get a  much better look at the lights.  We've done it for years now.

One thing I do every year in December that I enjoy doing very much is buying beautiful holiday cards from the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and sending them with personal notes to each of my friends and family members. The cards are quite heavy and it costs a lot to mail them but I splurge on this one holiday tradition every year anyhow because it's so much fun to do.

Our traditions include putting up the tree, playing Christmas music, being more charitable, and cooking feasts.

I'm going to miss doing these types of things with the kids when they grow up so I enjoy it while I can.
