Fire Around Tennessee
« on: December 03, 2016, 12:43:34 pm »
Does anyone on Fusion live around or have family or friends who live around Gatlinburg, TN?  I think they said 11 people have already died and there are many people still missing.  I know around 14,000 people were forced to evacuate.  This fire is due to drought and officials have stated "human caused."  How can people be so careless and downright idiotic having fires in drough-ridden areas,  Yet every year beautiful country, trees, and people and their homes are threatened.  If the person(s) could ever be found that are so careless, I would like to see jail time and a whole bunch of community service!

Did you hear about Dolly Parton's gracious offer of $1,000 a week to those who lost their homes until they get back on their feet again? What a fine person she is.

I live in East Tennessee.  The Gatlinburg fire is the latest in a series of fires happening since mid-November.
According to the Forestry Department, half of the recent fires were arson.

I live in middle Tennessee.  My daughter and I went to the smokies last year and it was so pretty.  I hate that part of it is burned down.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

It's actually $1000 a month, not a week, but it is still a very generous act of kindness.  I'm sure it will help the many families affected by the devastation.  I hope others will follow suit.

It is sad that people are so careless.  We heat with wood and have not started it,till today. I has rained for about 4 day here.  I will be watching it careful also.  A lot of beautiful land and place are all lost to us.

Nobody else can die in it.  The fires are out.  As far as I know there is not any one else still classified as missing either.

We have friends in the area and the fire was about 250 yards from their home but they are ok.  I'm still sending up prayers for the people in the area.

I heard that she is also doing a fund raising concert in Nashville for the victims.
