Contests/Promotions
« on: December 05, 2016, 07:19:37 am »
Do you do each of the promotions offered on Fusion?  Do you remember them?  I don't ever do the sports one because I am uninterested in most sports and know nothing about them.  I think there should be a promotion more geared toward women also.  I occasionally forget the Saturday/Sunday one.

Like you. I do not do the sports contest because I have little interest in sports and know very little. I only know most players names when there is a scandal except for The Olympics and The Triple Crown. The latter two I follow.

The weekend contest I take the time to do and I enjoy. Sometimes, I get so busy, I do forget or just do not have the time but I do most of the weekend non sport contests.

I try just about any of the sweepstakes as long as they don't ask me to buy or want money for it

I do not disagree with your comment about having a promotion geared more toward women, but with regard to the sports promotions, why not just submit an entry guessing at the answers? You aren't penalized for getting an answer wrong, and you might accidentally get an answer right!  Sometimes the sports questions ask who I think will win between two teams playing each other.  Sometimes the "pick a winner" question is about English soccer matches.  I know NOTHING about soccer or any foreign teams, but I still make my picks hoping for a penny or two if I pick right!

That's exactly what I do with the sports ones, and I'm sitting in 3rd for the 4th quarter standings. Some weeks I am good at guessing, others, not so much. But anything is better than nothing.  :)

even being an "expert" in sports won't give you much of an advantage in picking winners... just have fun and flip a coin and you may win

I agree with comments about having fun with these sports mini promos and giving them a try whether you follow sports or not.  I do follow sports as I live in a major sports-oriented city and couldn't escape them if I wanted to.  Ahem, don't get me started on that subject because I could talk for hours about all the sports history here.

Anyway, when I first started doing the mini promos on FC I steered away from the sports ones and just concentrated on the non-sports contests.  Why, I don't even know?  After all is said and done, you do stand a good chance of winning when picking win-or-lose  selections.  Some things make more sense with a little bit of research and that's easy to do with the internet.  That's up to you.  You really have nothing to lose in participating.  And sometimes when two teams are so evenly matched I do flip the "magic" coin. :clover:

I know a bit about Nfl football and not much else about "sports" other than what makes the news and you cannot help but to know.  I have had pretty good success with it, even when I had no idea what the sport even was.  It is usually a 50-50 guess.  If you click "subscribe to updates" on the thread it will send you an e-mail when there has been something posted since the last time you read the thread.  Usually there are no posts till a new contest or the payments are posted.  Occasionally you get a newbie with "how does this work" or somebody wondering where the payment/new contest is.  This has helped me not miss them.

There are plenty of women interested in sports just like there are men that aren't interested in sports. It's not really a gender thing.  I do like some sports, mainly football and basketball, but you can still guess at who's going to win a game and have the chance at getting money.

I'm more likely to forget to do the weekend one until it's almost time for the new one to be posted

I've never been involved in the contests and promotions here. I guess I should start trying them.  :P

Give 'em a try.  :present:

As I'm not a sports fan, I've never participated in the weekday contest, but maybe I should. Though, I have a hard enough time trying to remember the weekend contest!
