I'm scared
« on: December 06, 2016, 11:51:19 am »
My hubby has been having chest pains again. Ten years ago he had aortic valve replacement and triple bypass. He just came back from his new cardiologist and she's setting up an appointment with the original hospital to have catheterization. I'm really scared for him.

She said he'd be home within an hour after it if there are no problems, but he won't be able to drive because of the anesthesia. I can't drive either so I don't know who we'll get to take him. Both boys work long hours and hubby doesn't like to let anyone know when he's "sick." We have a couple friends left but again, he doesn't like to "put them out."

He tried to put it off until spring because of the outdoor furnace (I can't get to it with my disability) but she's trying for next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is why I'm scared. His mother died Christmas Eve, and other relatives on his side have died between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I don't know what I'd ever do without him.

Thanks for listening.

I'm so so sorry fir him and for you.  I understand totally how scared you are.  I know it's easier said then done, but try to relax things will work out.  Just because you had some family loses this time of year does not mean anything is going to happen to him.  Please keep us updated and I'll keep him in my prayers.

Will keep positive healing thoughts for you and your husband.    As difficult as it is, and I know it is, please try to keep positive thoughts.  Keep telling yourself everything will be okay.   Don't want any negative thoughts out here.   Picture him healthy and home after a successful visit to the hospital.    Always keep positive thoughts going!

As far as transportation, do you have Uber in your city?

Oh gosh, sorry to hear about this.  I'll be praying for you and your husband.  Perhaps there is a cab service or medical transport through the hospital or Dr.'s office that would relieve the stress of driving?

Just asked one of your friends, they will be mad if you don't let them help you out right now.  Check and see if your area has an access service, which is just for this type of thing.  Will keep you both in my prayers.  Think positive!

I am sure everything will  work out. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Is your husband a vet or do your belong to a church? Local vet organizations or church usually have people available to provide to hospitals and doctors appointments for those who need them. You need help please don't be afraid to ask for it.
Please keep us posted.  :peace: :santa:

Please ask for help.  Your sons, even though they work long hours, will want to help out their dad in times like this.  If they cannot, do check with your friends, your church, your local city might have an organization of volunteers that you are unaware of.

Explain your situation to the hospital and maybe they have volunteers for such problems. I have a mild disability myself can drive but not much. Our son lives with us and  he helps us alot. Good luck

I'm sorry to hear this. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My friend drives for a company that takes people to and from medical appointments, hospitals, etc. It is really big here in central Ohio. I don't know where you live but check with the insurance company because they are the ones that pays for the transportation.

Good luck to you. If I lived closer I'd help out.

You most likely are not "putting them out".    Can one of your sons not take off a few hours?  The fact that other family members have died around the holidays does not mean he is going to.  And even though it seems as if they are rushing things it doesn't really mean it has to be bad.  Usually if it is heart related they move quickly.

Don't be hesitant to ask people for help.  People like to help out when they can.  Give them a chance.  I will pray for you and your husband and you can do the same.
