Musical Instruments Named After Musicians
« on: December 08, 2016, 09:15:01 pm »
The only musical instruments named after musicians I can think of are the saxophone (after Adolphe Sax) and the sousaphone (after John Philip Sousa). Are there any more?

Have absolutely no idea.  Of course I didn't even now those two were named after anyone lol.  Might be a fun subject to google when you're bored.

I'm not sure about general classes of instruments, but there's the Stradivarius violins named after Antonio Stradivari (both instrument maker and player), and the Les Paul guitars named after the musician of the same name.
