Not usually, but we wanted to visit our daughter for Christmas who moved to Florida a year ago.  My wife wasn't able to get the work week between Christmas and New Year off, so we left on New Years Eve and went by train from Ohio to Orlando. Spent a day at Universal with our daughter and a friend, then drove down to her area in West Palm Beach for a few days. We finished it off with two more days at Universal in Orlando.  We left Orlando at 8:00 this morning with temperatures in the mid 70's. We flew in to Pittsburgh and 4 degrees, then drove several more hours back home.  Talk about temperature shock!

LOTS of Steeler and Dolphin fans on that flight!

Had we stayed in West Palm Beach, we likely would have flown out of Fort Lauderdale. Thankfully we had plans already in place to go to Orlando and fly from there.  Security was STILL a no-nonsense big production by the TSA agents.

I just got back from a cruise which was the first week of January.  I enjoy a warm spot during the winter months and then I come back and hibernate until spring.

I take my vacation time around Christmas and still have vacation time left for after-Christmas shopping & New Years Eve/New Years Day off, and I LOVE it.  Will repeat it again this year for sure.

Nope, I don't take vacation in January. Typically I wait until summer to start my vacation days! Normally around April I start to feel the mental need to take a break from work.   ::)

Right now there is no time for a vacation.  Between newborn grandbaby (lives at our house with our daughter) and 2 year old grandson, work, and helping out my parents, there isn't time to think about a vacation.
