I love riding on airplanes!!!!  I love to travel and this is the fastest way to travel to different places and see as much as possible.  I always wanted to learn how to fly helicopters but was unable to do this because of my eyesight being bad.  I used to travel all the time, but since I had children and got married I have not been able to do as much.  Traveling on an airplane is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life.

I guess not.  I have 22 jumps from planes when I was in the Army - Not because I liked or did not like riding on an airplane, but because they paid me to jump (almost got killed twice during jumps - chute failed to open properly - 3rd jump and 2nd time just missed landing in a canal with over 150 pounds of equipment (only weighed 122 pounds myself) on a jump in Munich).

Traveling by plane is still fun to me.  I don't do it often, so I like to have the window seat.  Can't get tired of watching the landscape below.

I saw the post about the army jumps....I'm glad I didn't read THAT before I did a tandem jump for my 50th birthday.  It was exhilarating!  Of course, I would not have done it without being hooked up to the tandem jump master.....he was in control of the chute and getting it opened on time, etc.

He also pointed out different landmarks to me on our canopy ride down.

I am flying next week to attend the graduation from Basic Training for our youngest daughter.

I love traveling so I figure I'd rather see the world by plane than minimizing myself to the states and driving.  I think the highways are more dangerous than flying anyway.  I just dont think about the bad stuff, but I always make sure someone knows my flight # and destination, because I know others are more worried than me.  I have been to Jamaica and Merida, Mexico (which is like 3 hours away from South America) because of flying, but I want to cross the pond and see Europe.

I've traveled tens of thousands of miles on planes and almost as many by car and I have to say that while I appreciate the convenience of an airplane, there's nothing like driving through a city, town, or state to get a feel for it.  You don't get to see and hear the people, the shops, the houses - from an airplane.  It's different.

I recently took my first plane ride to attend my brother's wedding, and I loved it. I can't wait to fly again! (If I get some money so I can afford the tickets ). I've always been interested in airplanes and aviation, so I was quite excited to finally have an opportunity to fly. I actually would like to get a pilot's license to fly small planes, but I doubt that I will ever be able to afford it.

I'd better, it's my job.  I've always loved flying.  I was five years old the first time I flew by myself.  Heck I even like airplane food.
