friends from the past are part of our lives.
they help shape the way we go into the future.

I would feel uncomfortable contacting them just to say hello however.

They would probably love hearing from you. Go for it! I'll bet you'll be happy you did. :highfive:

The past is history.   The present is the future.

I am okay with saying HI to friends lost along the way. Facebook is to thank for that since I have found so many people I used to hang out with, past work place friends & anyone I might have forgot about as the years have passed me by.

Thanks for that insight Amy, I agree with your policy completely and do the same.

I'm not really trying to find people from the past, it's a job dealing with the present.

I am so lucky to have all the friends that i have,  i can call them at anytime. Our class of 61 are so close that we still get together after all of these years. We laugh and cry over all that have gone before us, then we laugh some more and say see you soon.

If you got Facebook, some of the past friends can still be a friend!

Thanks to Facebook, I've re-kindled friendships from the past. A few years ago we actually organized a class reunion exclusively on Facebook. It had been many years and there had been no "organized" reunions so we decided to do our own. Out of a class of 200 we had 50 attendees which I thought wasn't too bad.

I have friends from the past who have found me on Facebook.  That's the best way for me to maintain a friendship with them.  Different people have different ideas about what it means to be a friend.

I don't need to spend a lot of time with them.  I just like being on "friendly terms" with them online or if I bump into them in person.  I don't necessarily call them unless I have something important to tell them.

Life goes on for everyone.
Have a great day!

I have many friends from the past that I really missed and tried to find, I did find one on FB (they were FB friends with a current co-worker of mine, and I had NO idea.  I wasn't even sure it was her, she changed so much...so I messaged her and it was her!)  It was so cool!

The others that I wanted to find so much, I ended up "running into them" around town ....I was sooo excited to find each of them.  We talked & got "caught up" and it was like "old times".  Not awkward at all.

The BEST though, was when I was working retail in a store for several months.  I saw a name on a employee board, it was the same name of the very first friend I ever had.  I thought she had moved out of state when we were in first grade.  I decided to ask around and see who this person was....   :)  Turned out not only was it her, but we had been passing right by each other in the employee break room and I never recognized her!!

I had some very great friends in my past.  I am SOOO HAPPY to have them again in my present.   :) :) :)

My past friends are mostly now fb friends since I moved out of state. But many I just read their posts and don't actually talk to very many of them.

I agree, Facebook's been really great for that. I've found quite a few people I used to go to school with on there. Not that I have everyone I've ever known on my friends list. I like to keep it on the small side.
