Repealing ObamaCare
« on: January 15, 2017, 11:58:24 pm »
It's no secret that a percentage of people were seriously disenchanted with ObamaCare.  I'm neutral because ObamaCare didn't apply to me or my situation.

Now, it sounds like ObamaCare might be a thing of the past.  Will this change have an impact on you or your situation?

It doesn't seem like it's wise to "do away with it" until after they establish a better option for the American people. That just seems like common sense to me.

What are your thoughts about all this?
Have a great day!

It isn't going to affect me either, as Massachusetts already has it's own state run healthcare program. I agree, it should be replaced for people who need it.

I don't have Obummercare,  soooo GLAD to see it go!!  It was totally absurd & infuriating that my choice was to either pay HIGH premium so I could say I "had insurance" but deductible was so high (along with the premiums) that it was insurance I could NEVER afford to use---OR---be paying a penalty each year with no insurance, a penalty that ALSO increased ridiculously eash year...............but was STILL cheaper than paying the insurance premiums.  Bye & Good Riddance to everything Obummer touched!!!

I just got medicare recently and my wife is on Obamacare.I think for those that had it it made you feel like you could go to a Dr,hospital or get a prescription without feeling liking a freeloader.Yet i also see why many didnt like it and also see why many have medicaid because they are poor.

This much i know.Man will NEVER fix it as long as he governs himself. And there will come a time when Gods original purpose was for us NEVER to get sick and die.

It didn't affect me. I didn't have it. I couldn't afford insurance after I lost my job so just held my breath until I turned 65. Only had 6 months to go when I wound up with the knee sarcoma. Oh, well.

I'd love to know what they're going to do about the money they stole from Medicare to help the start up of Obamacare. This is one of the reasons Medicare and Medicaid are in such trouble. They took Medicare money to put in Medicaid for the millions of people they expected to add on Medicaid, calling it Obamacare.

I did like one or 2 things about it, but the minuses certainly outweighed the pluses. Why should medical devices be taxed? They are a necessity for people, not a luxury. And the new taxes that are going into effect this month (I forgot which ones) will only make it harder on those with it.

I think it has to be replaced with something,  20 million people have coverage that did not before. We are goig to pay for the care one way or another, this way people get in before it is at the most extreme and expensive.

I think it's good that anyone could possibly get insurance.  The problem is, all the insurance companies want so much that you cant afford it anyway.  Then they fine you on top of that.  I couldn't afford the insurance, they wanted over 600 a month with a 10,000 deductible.  I have no health issues (that I know of) and am only 44. So no insurance last year.  It is cheaper to just have to pay the fine than deal with the insurance..which we also can not afford.  I would be happy if they just eliminate the fine!

I couldn't afford the health insurance with ObamaCare and I know I won't be able to afford it after it is repealed.  My policy with a $6,500 deductible is costing me $400 a month and that is after the $212 "government assistance" that I receive for the policy.  The last two years I have had to pay back all of the "assistance" I received the prior year when I filed my taxes.
Have a wonderful day!

What do you expect the millions of people who will have no healthcare if this is repealed without replacement to do?  If they all have to go to the emergency room with minor illnesses and cannot pay we will all pay for it in the long run.

Obamacare was anything BUT affordable, and really needs to go. All it did was make the insurance companies even richer, at the expense of millions of people who used to have affordable insurance, and then lost it because their plans didn't qualify.

What do you expect the millions of people to do who currently have no health insurance, because Obamacare is unaffordable, and the fines are cheaper than the huge deductibles? With or without insurance, people shouldn't be going to the ER with minor illnesses; that's what walk-in clinics are for. Even a doctor visit is cheaper than an ER visit, so they should be more responsible and not go to the ER unless it's necessary.

Personnally I'm glad it is getting repealed, it has been bad news from the start.  I can't see where it has helped anyone.  More people just got added to Medicaid.  Then they can't find doctors who take it.  People who have paid for their insurance can't afford to anymore because of Obamacare.  I have insurance through my employer, have only had to use it once, but it was just like I didn't have insurance, because my deductable is so high, so what is the point of having it at all if it doesn't help when you need it?

I live in Minnesota and the MN-Sure has been running me into the ground for 2 years. I file on the Mn-sure site that only works half of the time if ever, Minnesota paid some insane fee for the web site over 30 Million dollars and it never works.  The site tells me to file with my county social services because I got hurt at work and am dealing with a work related injury. So I file with the county and they give me the run around for about a month then send me a NOPE letter saying you need to file with the state..... If i would have treated my mother while sick,  like Mn has treated me I'd have gone to jail for abuse.  OBAMA-DON'T and never has Cared!   Minnesota health care had gone up 65 % in the last year!   IT NEEDS TO BE Repealed and fast!
