My dad use to get off this day for some reason but it never made any sense why he did. Now my mom gets off because her job is like a state job so that makes sense I guess. :-X

It is a rather odd holiday but in the nsortheast it is the start of winter vacation for the kids. Growing up and when I was teaching I always had the week off. Now Monday holidays don'tmean anything to me because my days off are Sunday and Monday.

I am off and will visit with my mother since she is traveling out of the country next week! My son and I want to see her off before she leaves. And when I come home I will organize the clothes I am selling and donating online! :)

I took today off not normally off.  Easy to get doctors appointments etc on this day.  So doing my health check up me and my children

I'm semi retired do I pick and chose what day to take off and just so happend this week it is today and tomorrow  that way I have a long weekend and also because now that I ws sick for two days I can still catch up and get done the things that I wanted to  :)

There used to be two President holidays in a row, George Washington & Abraham Lincoln. They combined the two in to just one general President holiday.  Actually this is a great holiday as it celebrates us & the positive growth of our country.  :)
