Dot net or dot org?
« on: February 21, 2017, 08:59:42 am »
Which is better for a blog, dot net or dot org? It would be a blog about designing/ Photoshop, etc, with maybe a few moneymaking posts or everyday life posts thrown in. I couldn't get the dot com for the domain name I wanted, since someone is sitting on it without actually using it.

I have had dot net in the past but not a dot org. I am partial to the dot com but I'm "old fashioned" lol
I guess if I personally had to choose, it would be the dot net. Just my opinion.
Good luck!!

dot  org  =  The domain is commonly used by schools, open-source projects, and communities, as well as by for-profit entities.    dot net  = The name is derived from the word network, indicating it was originally intended for organizations involved in networking technologies, such as Internet service providers and other infrastructure companies.    Here is kind of the meanings ... of both of them.   I' d go with what fits the best!

I'm partial to dot com too, but unfortunately it is totally unavailable.

I don't know if either really fit my blog idea! I suppose maybe dot net would be better, but I've seen both used for various things that don't really fit the image.
