Do you have any trees bearing fruit at home?
« on: February 24, 2017, 11:00:27 pm »
Some people have trees that grow a particular fruit such as lemons, oranges, kumquat, persimmons, grapefruit, pomelos, apples etc. I feel blessed at home to have an avocado tree. A lot of people and I love eating avocados. Last year, the tree started to bloom flowers during the spring of April. November is the month to harvest avocados in abundance as they begin to fall off from the tree.

I don't have any trees at all.I used to have one until it was damaged in a windstorm a few years ago and I had to have it cut down.It wasn't a fruit tree.

Oh how I miss my fruit trees, I lived in southern OK for 3 years and had a really nice little farm with 23 peach trees 2 pear trees and one plum tree 3 pecan trees and a huge blackberry patch!! I had so many peaches and pears as they fell off the trees i'd feed them to the pigs i raised .... Needless to say it was the best pork in the world, the saying you are what you eat hold true on this one!

No.  Too much snow and cold in my area for it to be sustainable.

I wish I had a fruit tree! I would have endless snacks during the summer!  We live in the suburbs close to a major city, with a very small yard. At most we grew cherry tomatoes in wooden barrels when I was a kid. Homegrown cherry tomatoes are so delicious.  :in-love:

Not anymore...We had three apple trees in our back yard, but they all got diseased so we reluctantly cut them down. :'( :(

The only thing in our trees outside is snow.

Will melt soon, and soon there will be buds....but right now they are all frost with cold white stuff.

Fruit trees are not expensive.  You can get them at Walmart and Lowe's for around $5-$6  It takes a while for them to grow but the trees are pretty cheap.
