Grateful for a beautiful day
« on: February 25, 2017, 11:57:27 am »
It is such a beautiful day here where I live.  Even though it is still winter, it feels like spring.  I pray that all of you are enjoying this day.

In Virginia we've had a very mild winter with spring and summer like days mixed in.  I am enjoying the warm weather but fear we may pay for it in March and April.

Any day spent without a toe tag on or in a body bag is a day that I am grateful for regardless of the weather. Every event is something to celebrate if I have an ounce of energy. It is a little chilly in Colorado but beautifully sunny and gives me an excuse to stay in and work for warmer days. Although I miss driving the Jeep or my scooter, feeling the wind blowing through my hair, I am pleased that I have another option to drive that keeps me shielded from the elements. The glass is always appears half full in my world and I believe in living life to it's fullest and helping others to do the same. Turn that frown upside down always comes to mind and I wish every one the best of health, wealth, happiness, and time to enjoy all three to the maximum.

Oh yeah today was a summer like day, people walking around wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts, just summer clothes, hot like no other. Ground hog couldn't have seen his shadow, cause these past few days has been summer weather.

Tennessee is having a beautiful day, today, as well.  We have had such a mild winter that my husband and I have been able to go for a walk outside almost every day.  The flowers are all blooming about a month early, and because of the warm days, I decided to try planting a few cold season vegetables in the garden weeks early.  There have been very few Februaries that I have been able to do that.  So far I have lettuce, radishes, pak choi, collards, mustard greens and kale all coming up!  I think the little plants will be okay even if we still have a few frosts scattered in.  I do hope we don't have a cold spell that kills the blooms on our peach tree!
