Joni Sledge, Member of Sister Sledge, Dies at 60 she was part of the group that sung we are family good lady sorry to here she passed a way

Sad. Since I am 63 I consider her to have passed way to soon.  With todays medical knowledge no one should pass away at 60.  Prayers for her family.

I learned about her death a few minutes. While their music was well before my time, I am nevertheless saddened by her loss. R.I.P. Ms. Sledge.

I used to listen to them when i was growing up, liked their music.

I was just a kid when the Fam-a-lee Pirates won the World Series. I still remember the sisters singing in the victory parade since the Buccos had taken We Are Family on as their theme song.  It was also a song with prominence at my wedding reception, where all four of my wife's sisters (plus her = 5 sister in total) were all together in one place -- which rarely happens since they are all spread out from New Jersey to Ohio to Louisiana.  Great song; sad to hear of her death.

I remember the song too.
Jackson 5 [ with Michael Jackson] and the Supremes and the Osmond Brothers were popular too.
Family group singers became popular in those days.
