Webcams
« on: March 26, 2017, 12:53:24 pm »
Here is a new one.  I was doing a survey for a different site last night.  I swear I had spent close to 40 minutes doing a survey that paid around a dollar.  Then one of the last questions tells me they need to access my webcam to do like 3 more questions.  And tells me how to make sure I am centered in the camera and make sure the laptop is sturdy.  Blah Blah Blah.  I went on but when the pop up for the camera came up I denied access.  Not sure if the payment will stay or be denied later.  I did have the opportunity to give comments before the final submit.  I told them that if they were going to need to access the webcam they need to tell people that upfront.   Not wait until the last question then spring that on people and then deny payment if they do not comply.  NO BODY accesses my webcam.

So far my payment is still in my account.  And this is the only site I am a member of where they can later take your money earned back away from you.   >:(

I wish surveys would explain in detail if they need extra from us when we do the surveys. I don't think it is fair for the credits to be revoked after it has been in our account either. I understand people probably do rush through them or answer with silly statements but those people should be banned from the site period. Good luck!

I love those surveys. They are quick, easy and usually pay well. 40 minutes seems like a lot of time, but you only had to answer three questions on your webcam. That sounds like a good deal.

On the other hand, I understand why some surveys revoke, but I agree with amyDAST, they should explain to us EXACTLY what they are looking for so that there isn't any confusion.

Yeah if you put stuff like "fiadfhaha" for an answer.  There are times when you ask a question in a different way when you can get a different answer.  Another that ticks me off is the last question that asks for your street address.  I don't think they should be able to "reject" your answers when basically they are saying you did not give the answers they wanted.  OR when you spend an hour doing a survey and then finish and it says "oh sorry your profile did not match the what ever to take this survey".  Well then why was I allowed to take and finish it?  I don't fool with the surveys on this site as much because of not qualifying or getting revoked.

My point is you should tell me at the start if you want me to answer questions on a webcam.  I do not know how may questions it was.  I told them NO.  I am not doing surveys on a webcam.  And if you have never done a survey that takes 40 minutes or longer I am surprised.  I do them all the time.  Or use to. haha

Did you let it access the webcam and answer the questions?  They do not need my picture for an anonymous survey or pictures of the room I am sitting in.

I have done a few web cam surveys but I always feel a little weird about them. Hopefully they don't revoke the payment. I agree they should have mentioned it at the start of the survey.

I remember having the same survey with the same result except I didn't get credited.  I never give anyone access to the webcam.  I usually close the survey as soon as they ask to access my webcam

Honestly that would make me feel a little weird giving them permission to my camera. Only because I've never heard of a survey doing that until now. If I saw that at the beginning of a survey I wouldn't do it. But to go through the whole survey and then see that would tick me off.

Those surveys never seem to work for me, I have quit doing them altogether, just a waste of time.

It was a different site.  I did get credit...but it may be taken back away from me.  If that happens I will contact support because that is just not right.  Tell me to start with at the end of the survey I want your picture.  And I will tell you NO and we can not waste 20 minutes of my time. haha

I have seen several that wanted to video me while I took the survey.  The want to "watch my eyes and how I look at the screen".  Uhmmmm okay!
