Home Economics FYI: If you want to peel a garlic clove, trim each end and smash it quickly with the side of a knife on your cutting board. The skin will come off easily.

I had gotten  a nifty little garlic chopper from Amazon that once peeled you put it in and it sliced it up, 3rd  time i used it broke ............ 15.00 junk    it was scary one of the blades broke off in the deal and all most ended up in my stir fry!   I love garlic,  I like drilling holes in a potato and stuffing pieces in and baking or micro waving.

Yes, I have tried to peel garlic this way myself, and it works great.

Smashing garlic is one of those things that appears to be simple but it turns out it can be hazardous to your health.

I do this and it works!

I purchase my garlic already smashed and don't have to worry about getting on my hands.  The smell can be strong if doing it by hand.

1. Don't think we're making a fuss about it.

2. Everything is simple once you know it. Until then, it can be a mystery.
