Yes, the slinky toy is still around and lots of fun. However do not buy the plastic one because it gets tangled quickly and you waste your money. Pay the higher price and get the better one.

I bought slinkys for 8 children to open on Christmas Day.  It was insane  They had a blast racing them down the stairs. I like tinker toys too.

The plastic ones were also susceptible to breaking while you were trying to untangle it.  But then again, hey... now I've got TWO slinkies [that don't work] instead of one!  LOL!

That is true! Some toys are still around. Beautiful dolls, building blocks and much more.

I don't know if board games count in your mind, but you can't forget the classic game of Monopoly (though it has many different versions now). I know that retro looking toys are making a comeback. Interesting how these things happen.

Legos were a big hit when I was a kid.  The Game of Life and Monopoly were great board games.

Not many people may remember Jane and Johnny West and their horses, Thunderbolt and Poncho....but those were MY favorite toys when I was little.  I still have these dolls and horses.  I guess they may considered "antiques" by now as I am nearing the 60 mark.

Yes they are, my grands love to play with slinky, but they make them plastic now days, and they don't slinky the way the ones did in the old days.

I have to be honest, I never saw what was fun about a slinky. Yeah you watch it go down the stairs once and say "Oh, huh," but that's about it. Maybe it's a generational thing but I wasn't entertained with that even before I had video games etc.

GI Joes were pretty fun. I'm a girl and was supposed to play with Barbies, but one has a pink brush and one has a gun, you tell me which accessory I can get more stories out of.

Hey, some of the older toys are better than the crazy things they have out today! Personally, I always loved the old game systems. I grew up with Nintendo, and one of my bucket-list items is to have one of each of the old-school gaming systems starting with the original NES, which I actually do have, so I'm slowly making my way there! I think the toys nowadays are too technological and it's taking away the children's ability to think for themselves. But I know they have some benefits as well, so I guess they aren't all bad.
