Visiting the cemetery.  That's the only way to properly honor the holiday and it's real meaning.

No set all set prescription for others on how to spend the holiday from this camp! Pretty much the same old same old with a few breaks thrown in. Worked for nineteen hours yesterday and have nine knocked off, so far, today. I am supposed to get together with friends in six hours which will allow me to beat my work goal for today. I aim to have twelve hours in tomorrow providing the night with friends is not too damaging/exhausting. Memorial day, Monday, has my goals set on fourteen hours of work with a break for family time at our health club (free food). Will take a break on Monday to put together the week's work needs: laundry, breakfast/lunch fixings. I think that a prayer said for those that have served our country will be in Monday's mix.

Have no specific plans, as of this moment. But will know later. Have a safe and bless Memorial weekend and day.

Went to the cemeteries,  Did not make it too all as they are so spread out. But did make it to the Children's and my parents. Next year  we will go to the C
s and then to another  town for hubby's parents. Wish they were not so  scattered but they are so we  do mine one year and his the next year.

Happy Memorial Day everyone. We may go to the cemetery in the morning, but in the afternoon we are having a cookout at my sisters house.

What are people's plans?

I argued with some idiot last year (I don't know why I wasted time doing so but this idiot needed to be set straight) that said Memorial Day was something to do with working people.  I am like NO that is Labor Day.  And even the dead beats who do not work celebrate that day. lol

Memorial Day is not a day of Celebration.  It is actually a really somber and sad day.  It is a day to remember the fall soldiers who have died fighting for our freedom.  Of course they probably are not allowed to teach that in schools any more.  Somebody might be offended.  I say if you are offended by America or our flag then get the frick out of our country!  They sure aren't offended by all the freebies they get every month.

I don't understand your comment.  What does visiting your parents graves have to do with Memorial Day?  Memorial Day is to remember FALLEN SOLDIERS not just people in general who have died.  Maybe both your alls parents are military.  Idk.
