Porch Pirates
« on: June 12, 2017, 07:57:47 am »
The news gave the crime of someone stealing off your front porch, porch pirates. Millions of people has been victims of this, has this happened to you? Do you have any porch pirates crime tips? This don't have to be just the mail, I had a pot of flowers gone, I had 2 cutest kittens in a box gone...never to see again. Cameras are everywhere they say. Stay safe Fusioncash bloggers. Have a gr8 day.  :present:

No, we have never had anything stolen from our place.  Our neighbors know we have guns and do a lot of target shooting around our property plus we have a sign up on our porch that says, "No trespassing.  Violators will be shot.  Survivors will be shot again."  Plus, just by saying No trespassing, it keeps the Jehovah Witnesses away!  They are not supposed to visit places that has a No Trespassing sign up.
Have a wonderful day!

I heard that this happens a lot around Christmas, when people are buying lots of gifts online.  Security camera is one option, another option is to ask UPS/FedEx/USPS to hold your package at the office and go pick it up yourself.  Many stores also offer ship-to-store where you go to the store to pick up your order.

My husband put up 2 signs on the garage door and 1 on the porch but they are small and you can't even see the one on the porch because it's so high, but I especially love the one I stuck to the front door. It says, "WARNING! There is nothing here worth dying for."  :)

No, i haven't had anything stolen by porch pirates. Around here, they only steal from cemeteries.

We only have potted plants on our front porch, and unless you count the squirrels digging them up, we haven't had any porch pirates.  We HAVE had items stolen from vehicles sitting in the driveway.  The latest "driveway pirate" took all our parking meter change!

I had heard that there was an epidemic of porch pirating around Christmas. It did not seem to affect out neighborhood. I did all of my Christmas shopping on line last year and everything showed up. Two presents showed up two weeks late which was okay. I am going to try and have my shopping done by the end of October at the latest. My neighbors have several packages sent to their houses daily and have never had anything stolen. I think that we may have less incidences because our neighborhood has a strict policy against door to door peddlers. If someone comes to our door selling services, girl scout cookies, religion, etc., we kindly tell them our neighborhood's policy and warn them that if we do not see them get in their vehicle and leave we will call the police. The reason we are strict is because we don't want porch pirating or people putting together a schedule of when we are not home-inviting burglars.

Well good to say that I have never had a porch pirate to come and take something off my porch, don't really have anything on my front porch, except a rug.

Have not had packages stolen, but had a bathtub we were getting ready to install stolen out of our driveway.
They were caught, fools were trying to carry this very large tub down the street, and one of out neighbors called it in. Packages we have delivered with signature requested or left at the station for pick up.
