I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't recognize.  I get telemarketer calls all the time.  If it is important, they will leave a message.  9 out 10 times no messages are left.
Have a wonderful day!

It is a scam. Don't fall for it. If you know you filed your tax honestly this year, then don't worry about it. The IRS usually sends you a letter if there was a problem.

One of our daughters saw a missed call showing ID as the IRS just the other day.  I told her to just disregard it as I had already heard there was such a scam going on in this area.  Its a shame people like that don't get a real job and quit trying to scam people.

If IRS wants to get a hold of you they will send a letter, There are so many scammers out there now, I hardly will answer my phone unless I know  the person calling. I know there is no way the government can get them all shut down , they just crop up some where else. Not they are even using local numbers and that is hard because I know so many people and may not have them on my phone book, nor do I have all of the phone numbers  of my doctors because they use so many different phone. Just make a person  want to throw the darn phone out the window.

I hate these scammers.  Every once in a while they'd call my parent's home number and leave a message.  Thankfully my dad would call me instead of calling back the number.  I'm sure a lot of elderly people get trick by this :(

I bought a small klaxon and when I answered a telemarketing call i would blow the thing right into the speaker of the phone.  The calls have dwindled to almost none!

Have not got a call stating it is from the IRS, because if they do I know the IRS does not call people.  Thanks for the information

Literally I got the same call yesterday. I didn't hear until my wife got home and said, hey the phone has a message. She push the message ad there it was. LOL I hope the senior citizen community is not fooled by these scammers!

The IRS will never call you. It is always a scam. You can take the opportunity to mess with them. It's pretty funny.

I have to admit they succeeded in freaking me out for a minute when I received that phone call. After a minute it dawned on me that he was obviously nonsense, although I did call a friend just for peace of mind. He of course laughed at me.
