What are your thoughts...
« on: August 11, 2017, 01:26:06 pm »
Okay, Fusion Cash has our phone number.  We, most of us complete surveys and offers on this site.  I completed one where I had to enter a date for a trip and compare hotel prices.  Not sure if it was here or another similar site.

I receive tons of spam calls every day that appear to be from a local cell phone number.  I never answer.  If they want to talk to me they can leave a message but  I am expecting a call but do not know the callers phone number so I answered a few minutes ago and this chipper girl starts yammering and says she is with "Travel Promotions".  I reported the number that showed on the caller ID (which was a fake number) and gave them the name of the company she said she was with.  Anyway, I googled Travel Promotions and the first things that pop up are the travel sites that I compared prices on.  I did not give ANY personal information so if they got it then it came from FC or one of the other sites I do surveys on.

So my question - do you think the surveys we do effect the junk mail and calls we get?  I certainly do.  I have done more than one survey about State Farm and now I get junk mail from them from ALL of the surrounding counties about 4 times a week.  I said I would "consider State Farm insurance" in the survey.

I do find I get lots of junk email since I started doing surveys. So annoying. I have to unsubscribe to so many daily.

Yeah! That's why I usually avoid surveys that ask for email, I trust fusioncash itself enough to keep my inbox relatively clean.

When you are comparing prices and getting quotes from companies.....

you are a lead; which is a potential customer.

I was receiving postcards in the mail asking if I would like more information about life insurance.  I checked the box saying I would like more information.  I assumed I would receive more information in the mail so I could take time  to consider the options.

I had no idea that I would have people knocking on my door.  They company sent people out to give me "more information" because in doing so - they increase the possibility that they can close the sale.

I refuse to be pressured into anything.  I learned not to ask for more information.
Have a great day!

lol.  YES!  I have noticed several things and have come to the conclusion it is coming from sites like this one.  It is insane to think these companies will pay me to listen to their sales pitch and not expect something in return.  They are buying potential customers.

I can block them on my phone.  I have probably 200 numbers blocked.  But now they are spoofing the numbers so the number on your caller ID is not the number of the actual caller.

Yeah! That's why I usually avoid surveys that ask for email, I trust fusioncash itself enough to keep my inbox relatively clean.

I don't give my email in the survey.  I am saying FUSION CASH and the other survey sites DO share your personal info with the people who are conducting the survey.  If you do not believe me then open a support ticket and ask them.  They will tell you.  I done a survey once and afterward was concerned about some of the questions and I emailed FC and ask if they people who conduct the survey know who we are.  The response "OF COURSE THEY KNOW WHO YOU ARE.  If you are uncomfortable answering survey questions then just x out of it and try another one."

I done a survey on another site yesterday and it was asking for where my personal bank accounts were, who held my home mortgage and any personal loans exactly who I had credit cards with and what the balances are.  Uhm, I am not applying for a personal loan with you people.  Needless to say they didn't get any real information out of me.  I clicked none of the above for almost every answer. haha

No, I wasn't a lead.  I was trying to get 20 cents.  I don't think any one on this site is rich.  If they are then they are really greedy. haha.  Why would someone who was rich spend all day trying to make a few dollars.  I have seen posts where people struggle to get to the $25 mark to cash out each month.  If they didn't NEED the money they wouldn't be on here wasting time.

The thing I clicked said they are not trying to sell me anything.  And I have never put my real phone number in on anything except I did put it in for FC but do not expect FC to share that phone number with any one.  Even advertisers on this site without my permission.  And I would not give it to them.  Do these idiots think I am sitting here clueless and someone can call me and say Hey do you want to take a vacation?  I will sell you a package.  And I will just say oh yeah I never would have thought of that on my own.

I just got to thinking about it and am pretty sure that is part of why I get 10-15 SPAM calls a day.  May not be related.  It also surprises me at how many of the surveys we take are housed outside the US.  I have an add on that tells me what country the site's servers are in.

And yes, I understand if I check that I want more information they will contact me.  That is common sense.

I gave my phone number for a survey and I get all kinds of calls. Someone called my and told me they were returning my call about my back pain. I asked them when did I mention that to them because I don't have back issues. So if you don't recognize a number, don't pick up.
