Hand Writing letters
« on: August 17, 2017, 03:59:00 am »
Do you still hand write letters to family or friends? I use to write letters all the time, but now
I would rather send emails. I still receive hand written letters
From my friend that lives out of state, which is nice.

Very few letters written, email is better and no stamp purchases.

I haven't written a letter since I was in the Army. Now I email or use the phone.

It would not work for me, since not many would be able to read it.

I notice that my grand-kids, except for the oldest at 21, print everything.

Don't they teach hand-writing any more?? Apparently not.

I always write the kids a note when i send them cards for bdays etc. They have seen my long-hand notes all their lives, as I helped raise them for 15 years.  So, they can read them.

Just like kids are losing the desire to read an actual book.  They want it on a tablet, or kindle or whatever....if they read a whole book at all outside of school.

My 20 year old grand-daughter surprised me recently, and found an actual book to read. It was historical, what a joy to hear that!

The kids text a lot, and when they send me a card, always with a message, will print it very nicely.

We have lost much of the graceful life.  Too much technology seems to be breeding a generation of activists and protestors. Not the"let's talk about this" mentality or "put it down on paper, and I will read it" society...real, honest, considerate conversation is getting lost in the shuffle.

I haven't written a letter in a long time.  Now it's either email or texts.

I never hand write any letters. I think if I had to mail a letter I would print it out and send it.

If I have to write, i will. I did have a penpal when I was a child. They still have pen pal clubs. You really learn to write when you hand write.
